Host of good deals this coming week! May consider getting the jumper cables, if it is 100% copper.

Was just there today.

Picked up a few cans of white lithium grease and silicone spray.

Speaking of 3-in-1, I see they are carrying the FirePower line of welders, what used to be sold as Tweco.

I'm going to keep an eye on this product - it looks like it has a different gun plug than the Tweco, but if the TIG pedal is the same, I'd happily wait for a princess auto sale to get one cheap.

20% duty cycle is pretty low. 2 min of straight welding and 8 min of cooling time makes quick projects take forever.

That's only if you're trying to weld at full power - my Tweco box is set up for sheet metal work, which it'll do at 100% duty.

If I had to do more fabrication of thicker metal, I'd get something that ran off 230V - probably a Lincoln tombstone.

For me, it's nice to see the Tweco / FirePower / Victor / ESAB lineup show up at another vendor beyond KMS, since the Velocity tips on the gun are not as common as Lincoln or Miller consumables.

I got the cart in the upper right a while back. Put a piece of hardboard and 4 of their 10" casters on the bottom so it would roll down my lockstone path.

The Dannmar 7000x lift is on for $200 off for the next few days. Actually a decent deal with the crazy bad exchange right now. Wish I could pick up a couple.

I just used one of those Titan 1/4 drive universal sockets on Saturday. It was on a sharp angle, almost too sharp, but the socket handled it, no problem. A definite pass!

They don't come out and say it ... but the obvious answer is the cost of dealing with the Office de la langue Francaise. Same reason there's no Lowes here.

When Tim's was bought by Burger King there were lots of layoffs. I was really surprised about the number of translators, 60 or 70, that lost their jobs. It got me thinking and literally every document from training manuals for the servers through accounting, HR, etc would have to be accurately translated.

It would be a huge job to make PA bilingual. It's better for us because when they make a limited qty special buy or close out, we don't have to share with Quebec guys.

I hope not! :shocking:

Pardon my ignorance, but does PA not ship to you guys?

I have a SIL that lives 1 exit away from PA in Ottawa. My wife never noticed how I like going to the in-laws now (well that in-law's anyways)

Oh - Mrs Outlander has my wish list. It appears she has a credit card, internet and a direct line to Santa.

Has anybody had any experience with their 3/4" drive socket sets? I've been meaning to get a a 3/4" drive set for a while, but I don't know whether to grab one of their 20 pc 3/4 in. dr SAE Socket Set (on special for $79.99 for another week or so) or wait until CanTire has their equivalent Mastercraft 20 Piece 3/4-in Drive Socket Set on special again.

Of course the CT set usually goes on special for around the same figure as the regular price on the PA set, but CT's "lifetime exchange warranty" would probably make it just a bit easier to get a damaged socket or ratchet replaced than with PA's "life time warranty against manufacturer defects".

Hard to believe these companies would ignore almost a quarter of the country (by population). I realize there would be costs and inconveniences but that's a lot of lost business.

They seem pretty sharp at Princess Auto head office, judging by the way the company is run. I would imagine that they analyze the costs of starting up in Quebec and compare the return on that investment to expanding in the rest of Canada. Until they've saturated the big markets, they're probably going to get a better return in the rest of Canada.

PS this is all pure speculation on my part.

Anyone had any luck with those deadblows? I've been meaning to pick up a dead blow or two. (can never have too many hammers, right?) I'm just wondering whether they are ****?

For occasional use I'm sure they will be fine. If my full time job required everyday use of a dead blow I would possibly be looking for something better. A hammer is pretty hard to screw up
