Whoa whoa whoa, how come I've never seen these before? My local PA just stocked these Pro-Point deadblow ball peins, a 26oz and a 44oz. Feels great, no steel shot in these. Only problem is the price, but knowing PA, it'll go on sale for 50% off in the future, another product to keep an eye out for!

Use it like you would a regular hammer, only these are easier on your arms, doesn't bounce back, and less "ringy" when struck on metallic objects (such as disc brakes) compared to a regular wood handled hammers. Great for pounding stuff.

Once you use one, you will never want to go back to regular hammers.

The single biggest problem for me buying stuff from Princess is that their inventory and catalog is not consistent. Six months down the road and some of these things you bought are no longer stocked (one off special buys) making warranty a giant pain in the ***.

Another round of good deals this coming Tuesday (or really, starting tomorrow!)!

-OSCA Made in Italy hammers (assortment) are marked down finally!
-Decent looking service cart for $117.77
-4 ton Porta-Power kit is back for $100!

I have no PA stores close by, but have made a few purchases online over the past year or so. I am not super familiar with all of the products and pricing structures but a few weeks ago I saw another GJ post on OSCA hammers, checked the PA website and purchased the 11 lb sledge that was on sale for $34.99, regular $54.99

Now this sledge is $129 regular price!
http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/11-lb-sledge-hammer/A-p8614489e

Do they normally change regular pricing that much or was this more of an anomaly?

BK, your comment "Another round of good deals this coming Tuesday (or really, starting tomorrow!)!", I didn't catch why you said starting tomorrow; does the sale start earlier in the stores?

Pretty sure that's a price error! Regarding the sale start date, as long as you have a physical flyer (of next week's sale) you can go in and they'll adjust the price of the item to the sale pricing.

Titan has pretty decent customer support, but I wished they stayed with the extra long handle flex head ratchet, just with upgraded internals. My 3 piece set is still working great, using the 1/2" as a ratcheting breaker bar.

Cross post from new tool arrivals:

Saw these at Princess Auto and couldn't resist. They are on sale for 50 bucks and are discontinued from this point on. Vessel made in Japan screwdrivers. The silver ones are impact drivers and are spring loaded/camming. You hit them with a hammer and they turn the crack the screw loose for you. Time will tell how I like these. They had other Vessel sets but to me this was the only interesting item.

Well my new OSCA hammers showed up today... Most of them anyways.

Packing slip shows three hammers, box was shoddily taped to the point that an 24" box had the better part of maybe 6-8" of closure from the tape (it was all twisted and stuck to itself).

Brought it inside, took a picture of the condition as it felt a tad light for having three hammers in it. Surprise! it didn't. Took the packing slip out to verify whether or not there was a second package to come (seems odd, considering three hammers can certainly fit into a box that is 24x8x10) and it shows three hammers were supposed to be there.

Awaiting a response from the call centre, who is awaiting response from the warehouse.

Hammers were in decent shape upon arrival. Only minimal scratching at the **** of the handles, likely from being pulled out of one of the wire bins in the warehouse. So far I am satisfied wit the quality, though I have not yet used them. Balance seems good.

Yeah, packing hammers is not their strong suit.....ordered 9 hammers plus two sets of impact sockets. Came loose in the box. 9 hammers. LOOSE. :dunno:

So I think things have finally been figured out. Upon further inspection of the box, I noticed also that the bottom of the box at one end, the tape had been severed. According to PA, all three hammers were loaded into the box, so I am assuming the 14oz somehow got under the flap of the short end, and slid out of the box in transit sometime (Congrats to the Purolator guy who got a free hammer!) Got a receipt for the new one that is to be shipped out. Likely won't get it until the end of the week, but they made good on the issue, so that's a plus.

New propoint multi welder systems and plasma cutters. I wonder who is making them for them?

It would be worth it for the diyer if they actually keep them in stock for more than 1 season. The lifecycle of welding machines at PA has been around 9 months, then they're marked down and get no more support or parts

With more than occasional use you should have got your moneys worth out of it before the three year warranty is up. js.

Took a chance on a magnetic socket holder from PA, worked out perfectly for me, holds all my most necessary sockets, extensions, nut setters, etc. for work

These look very similar to the line of multiprocess machines under the tweco name, as well as firepower.

For 900 bucks, a 3 process machine that will run 120/240. I like it.

I've entered the draw ;)

I asked about whether there's a pedal available for TIG on the 3-1, and the response was "it doesn't need one as there is a sensor that controls the process..." From what I know of TIG welding, sounds like a bit of BS....can anyone interpret/confirm that this would actually be feasible?

All MTS (mig tig stig) machines that have a tig function, uses scratch start aka touch start the pedal is used to control intensity of current it is useful however starting an arc for the tig newbie can be tricky without contaminating the tungsten. By the time you buy a tig torch, ,pedal and other accessories you are almost 400$ in, for 600 you can buy a High frequency start stand alone tig machine

They are made by Razorweld.

http://www.razorweld.com/

It was in the QA on one of their products. As usual the PA website is USELESS. There is no warranty information, product manual downloads, accessory part info. There are references to special order parts but no info.

If they are serious about these ProPoint welders they have to get serious.

If the torches are the same as the ones on the Razorwelds site they have a thumb control for adjusting amperage which means you don't use a pedal with them.

Does anyone have any experience with either of the welding helmets in the current princess auto sale flyer? I'm in the market for one and Canadian Tire also has one on sale this week. Anyone have pros or cons to either?
