Simply Amazing!

They just showed a picture of your garage on speed channel show 'two guys garage'. They were doing a segment on moduline cabinets and showed 5 or 6 garages with moduline cabinets and lo and behold I spotted yours. It's the two guys garage episode where they are working on late 90's olds cutlass supreme.

Thanks guys!

Neat that it was on TV! I'm glad Moduline is getting some exposure.. great cabinets/company.

Coolest garage on the forum.

They have a couple of places like this in the Houston area, but they're not close to my home or work. I'm hoping they continue to expand. It's a great idea for guys who don't have a ton of home garage space or even for people who lease their homes.

I think you're on the Corvette Forum as well. I remember the screen name and Matrix avatar.

Thanks much..

It made perfect sense for us.. we needed more space, but didn't want to change our home to get it. Solution = garage condo. :)

Yeah, that's me. I've been on the Corvette Forum for a while now. Good memory!

Take it easy.

Holy Moly! That is one awesome garage there. Something I could only dream of. A wonderful collection of cars too. Just amazing.

I'll just drive home into my small double garage now haha

I drive home to a very small 3 car garage - if that helps :)

What's going on with the Cobra build? This thread has been quiet lately.

Just updated the build thread:

Factory Five has 90 miles on it.. not much time to drive it lately as we just moved and have been digging out from that. I was hoping to have time to really shake her down before winter, but that's getting less likely.

They have a monthly cars and coffee gathering at the Motorplex during the summer months, and most of the owners have their garages open for viewing - there are all kinds of cars and projects to see, from muscle cars to antiques to exotics. I'd recommend a visit for anyone who happens to be in the Minneapolis area on the right weekends.

I just built a 48x44x16 with scissor truss to give me 21' center height.... I'm definitely doing a loft across the back. 18x44.... Home Office on one end and rec room/game room bar etc on the other

Thanks for sharing your garage. Its nice to see exactly what I'm looking for and will use the stair design. Like the treads and diamond plate.

They have already far, far surpassed the relatively simple place we built-out. One guy has full A/C system/furnace, washer/dryer, and his upstairs looks like it belongs at the Four Seasons - including Sub Z fridge and Viking range. Craziness.

Its looking good!

It's looking good Chris, keep up the hard work.

Thanks guys!

Whitetrash1: no long term parking is allowed 'outside' the garages, but on a day to day basis, lots of guys are parking in front of their places.

The FF cobra looks great! Any other projects on the go now?

My main project lately is our 15 month old son. :scared:

Awesome! Good luck on your build. Thanks.

Someone just built a moto complex similar to this one in this thread somewhat close to me in Beaumont, CA. I wish it were closer but made me think of this thread....any news with this?

Absolutely nothing happening over at the garage.. been busy with Family. (and we're just coming out of hibernation here - maybe).

Plans for the summer are to get the body back off the Factory Five, wrap up some mechanical loose ends, keep shaking it down, then eventually send it off for paint. Still no idea on color.

Don't see any other projects coming. We've got a second phase of remodeling coming up at home and that's taking any free time up at the moment.

Hope you guys are all doing well.

I noticed the drywall finish coat I believe that the seems are really wide. Not saying there is anything wrong with that just curious about it since I've been able to tape the (new work) finish seems narrower. Regardless, it still looks really great looks like a professional job. Good work.

How about an update man, let's see what's keeping you out of the condo. :dunno:

I searched this thread back and forth, but I cannot seem to find the height (floor to dry wall) below the mezzanine and the height above it. How much head room / lift room do you have in each space?

Thank you.

BTW, this is still one of the best builds on this site. I hope you are enjoying the space as you envisioned.

This is simply amazing! I had seen pictures of your place posted on other car forums, but I did not realize you were a member here. I actually just finished viewing this from start to finish.

Very impressive pad and complex. This is the type of place that seems to always go to the next level. The next guy (garage) wants to out do all previous. Impressed with the details to your build. I like your style.

Cheers

Hey guys..

Thanks.

Eric - been away from the site for awhile.. life's been busy.

Sadly, no fun/work at the condo.. it's been a car drop off/pick up location all summer and is now 'winter storage' for all manner of stuff.

I've been hopeful to get back to work on the Factory Five, but we're expecting another baby boy in 5 weeks so it ain't looking good!

Hope you all are doing well.

Steel ceiling is 18' and the mezzanine floor all-in (2x12 joists, 5/8" rock, 3/4" underlayment and 5/8" cork + rubber under it) is a bit less than 14". I recall we gave a little more head-space to the upper floor, so call it 8' and 9'.

I'd have to measure to give you anything more accurate and I don't get there much this time of year.

Thanks for the nice compliment also :)

That's close enough, no need to measure, but thanks for the offer. Alberto

Funny, I have been drooling over your car condo whenever I go to C&C. Definetly one of the nicer ones there some seem too cluttered with cars or other items.
