Proto 3/8" Drive 29 Piece Socket Set

I got three: One for the house, one for the work truck, and one for a buddy.
The buddy just looked at me and asked what he was supposed to do with it, when I told him about it. He is a mechanic and has more 3/8" ratchets than he knows what to do with, apparently. He was thankful, but really doesn't need the set, so I think I'll give it to a different friend.

Hahaha. Hopefully this is not few and far between. It wasn’t that hard for me to find this deal. I’m sure there are others that haven’t been shared. I posted knowing that if I did it would likely decrease my chances in getting the deal but did so to encourage others to do the same. Thanks everyone for sharing!

Got mine today. One set had 1 Blackhawk socket instead of a Proto. Not a big enough deal for me to return. I’ll keep that set and give the other to Dad for Father’s Day.
It will be in the running for deal of the year when you consider how many people got in on it. I wish one of you guys who bought a bunch of sets would help those of us who missed out instead of flipping them.

Mine had that too. 15mm deep. Is there any difference between Blackhawk and Proto besides the name on it?
Most blackhawk stuff now is made in Taiwan, and proto is USA. Probably be the only noticeable difference.

Blackhawk chrome sockets are still US made.
I'm still waiting on store pickup. Last I heard it was arriving aprill 11. then nothing. and when I went to pick it up that week I was told it is on backorder and they don't know when it will come in....I appreciate the deal and if it is honored, but lets say this was just any regular order through grainger...I'd be pissed. Not even an idea of when it will ship or arrive. Are they BSing me? to get a cancel?

I tried to refrain from stating something like this, since this was a really good deal. Looking a gift horse in the mouth and all.
However, based on this order, the lack of updates and seemingly random order these items were shiped in, it doesn’t make me want to come back for other normal priced items.

I ordered Feb 21st Talked to them once on the original delivery date they had given me. They said they were back ordered I said OK.
Today a little over 2 months later I got my shipping notification Today with no communication in between.
For what this deal IS I am way appreciative of the original poster and of Grainger. If you are not I highly doubt Grainger will care!!! As you are not the customer they are looking for.

I've always wondered how grainger stays in business with the pricing they have...same with Fastenal. I'm guessing its mostly the government accounts, maybe some buddy business going on behind the scenes. In any case, since the location closest to me has closed I've only gone to MCmaster but yea...they wouldn't want me as a customer. lol. But I'll take a deal any place I can get it.

Just got an email saying back ordered till 5-14 for what its worth.
At one point I thought that Zoro was the arm of Grainger that had much better pricing for the common man. If that's not still true, maybe somebody knows better.
I bet when you grew up, not everybody made the team or got a trophy.
My sets hit Portland this morning, I'll have them by dinner tomorrow, and I didn't call/email/chat/*****/worry/angst either.

Got mine today, nice solid Proto quality. No fuss, no drama, just delivered. The large plastic box will be a discard; that would take up 1/6th of my socket drawer, and also way too big for a carry along set. Stood up on end, they'll take up about 6x6 inch space in my tool box.
