Awesome find, it pays to watch the CL.I seem to be on a bit of a proto flying lady tear as of late...I was scouring craigslist the other day and low and behold I spotted a rare beast. The 9953 Tool tote tray. Heck they are rare in plomb( I have one) but the more modern proto versions seem to be just as rare. I dont know of another collector who has one although if someone does have one I would be excited to see photos....anyways I made contact with the seller and set up a pickup for today. It was located in a small ag town but luckily I was able to run over there on my lunch and get back in time. Paid $55 for the tray and the pictured sockets. All the sockets on the right are proto la and are either ones I dont have or are more difficult to find so I thought it was a good deal! Super stoked on the tray. It's very straight and not rusty but as you can see it has been repainted. Maybe one day I will repaint it but for now I'm just going to enjoy putting it to use and give my plomb version a break for a while.

Thanks! I agree… I agree you just have to be consistent in your search and it pays off. This came from Damascus.Awesome find, it pays to watch the CL.
Nice! I forgot about that. But that was a few years agoNice find Smoke. I was quite happy to find one in the past. For pics, I have to take you way back to the:

I hate to be that guy but I feel the need to point out how the BS AI description ignores the fact that the gear isn’t the original gear. Yes it’s a 1/2” sq. drive gear and quite usable. A Google search will show everyone including the seller (who probably already knows) what it originally had for a gear. Now if we could just solve the mystery of WHAT that gear was driving. Mr. X had posted the biggest clue I’ve ever see, some sort of shaft was running through the female gear.
There hasn’t been any evidence of any application as far as I know, which is odd, considering the amount out there.Landing gear ratchet?

Nice little honey hole you found squez! what brand are the weather head sockets?

Yeah not going to be doing that^ Shipping from PA is going to be a deal-killer - big time.

That ratchet mechanism is most certainly Proto made! Pretty cool but what does one do with a retired missile truck?
Makes sense, anti gravity properties of dirt and allKeep the dirt under it from flying away. This will get turned into a trailer to move jeeps around with.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing that. I've seen the ratchet for sale before but wasn't sure if it was a home mod.. now I know, mil mod! Like how it has the little clip to hold it when the handle is flipped the other way. Edit: not a mod, but factory.

I have the Proto la version of that. It’s in a holder next to my tool mobile because it won’t fit in the box. Way too long
