Roger, I really need to get back on the '32. But, no room for it up here at the summer place. Had a 3.5 car garage on the cabin we sold, only a 2-car at the new place. But, my bride is thrilled with the house., so....

Probably won't have a chance to work on the '32 again until October. :dunno: Lot of projects on the near horizon up here. ;)

The bottom end of the tubes are tacked to the intermediate crossbar on the weld table- the tops are attached to the 4" S40 pipe legs with a 3" long piece of the 1" x 2" rectangular tube. (Compound angle cut, took a lot of trips back and forth to the belt grinder to get them to fit.)

Now my angle grinders have a place on my new work-in-process welding table- without the cords hanging out and dragging on the floor. I have my welders, plasma, and weld table all on casters and I always seem to be getting tangled up with extension cords.
I'll add a couple of dual outlet boxes to this table as I get further along. Still need clamp racks, too.

I'm a big fan of the Bosch 1380 Slim 4.5" angle grinders (replaced by the GWS8-45- looks and handles the same) - They are light enough to use one handed, heavy duty enough to use with both hands when I've really made a mess out of a weld- but I did buy a heavy duty Bosch 13 amp grinder to run the big cup wheel, it's a beast with that heavy wheel.

I'm guessing the cords just sit in the bottom of the bucket? Any "technique" or just let them naturally fall in?

I just wrap the cords around the slim grinders and drop them into the holders. The big 13 amp grinder body is too big for that, so I coil the cord around my hand and stuff it into the holder, then push the grinder in on top of it. Don't use the bigger grinder that much, so it's not really an issue.

Up early this AM, my dual canine home surveillance system notified me that we had visitors.

We're still getting settled into the new place. Closing on the old house next week, got a full price offer after the first showing. Downsizing my garage has been a challenge to say the least, but
6500' elevation in the pine trees sure beats 110°+F in the Phoenix desert during the summer.

Well, today was a bit of a mixed bag.. gained some much needed garage space here at our summer place by giving away tools I haven't used in quite some time.

1. 6hp 30 gallon Craftsman Air compressor, aka the screamin' demon.
2. 10" Craftsman wood bandsaw.
3. Delta Midi Lathe with extension.
4. Porter Cable sliding compound miter saw.
5. Several totes full of turning blanks and figured walnut for knife scales.

6. Still have my big 10" HF tile saw with sliding table I need to re-home. Show Low AZ.
7. And a 6" Atlas Craftsman Metal Lathe in Phoenix. Someone needs this little lathe.

I hate dealing with the Idiots of Craigslist, don't have a FB account, I feel a lot better giving the stuff away to someone who I know will get some use out of it.

Finally getting organized up here, it's been a challenge downsizing from 3.5+ garage spaces to 2.

You need to really consider Arizona a bit more….
The bugs, most of them, they go to sleep at night!
Hurricanes? Isn’t that something that happens in Mexico or Florida?!
Swamp? Yup, I’ve got a swamp cooler!
And remember, it’s a dry heat, if you want humidity, jump in the pool!

Went to the Canyon every Wednesday for 25 years delivering tools, my last stop was Papillon Grand Canyon Helicoptors. Would get there around 5:00 PM and would be there 2-3 hours taking care of the crew. New hires were told by the shop foreman that I would tell them what special tools they would need! Loved that stop, actually miss going there!

They trusted me so much I was allowed to back my Snap-On truck between all the Airbus and Bell helicopters to unload toolboxes like this one!

Did you service the Helibase inside the park as well?

Well, that didn't take long... Been in this place less than a month ..
Remodel in progress already.
This place was built in 2007 with an "owner's closet" for VRBO rentals.
We decided to convert it into a powder bath. It's 64"x 64", plenty of room for a pedestal sink and a toilet.
My plumber was here last Friday installing a Rinnai Tankless water heater and confirmed it would be an easy rough-in to the plumbing in the crawl space below. Said he could come back next Monday to do it ... ( He has a summer place ~50 miles from here and would rather work up here at 85° than in Phoenix at 115°)
So. I gutted all the built-in shelving, opened up the plumbing wall behind the fireplace, and got the new floor installed. (With the toilet flange in place)
IMG_20250621_162734467.jpg
Of course, mission creep set in, so now I am building a new closet in the laundry room to replace the space we vacated for the new half-bath.
First obstacle was moving the HVAC register over (on a finished travertine floor) to clear the closet framing. Could only move it so far, I-joist in the crawlspace interfered with the ducting). Got it moved, then headed out for studs, drywall and corner bead.
IMG_20250623_131712388.jpgFramed up and drywall hung yesterday. Ran out of screws and drywall nails, (thought I had enough, but ...) so made a quick run to Ace before calling it quits for the day. IMG_20250623_131629435.jpg
Will get it screwed down and then start slinging mud this afternoon. IMG_20250623_154141234.jpg
Sliding bifold doors are on order from HD, supposed to be here next week.

Powder bath project completed in time for a houseful of July 4th company.

Plumber showed up on Monday, he roughed in the plumbing and vent in the bathroom, then headed to the crawlspace to complete the hookups.
As soon as he was out of the bathroom I jumped in, hung the drywall, taped it, and got a coat of mud on it. Put a fan with a heater on it to force cure it. IMG_20250630_114949421.jpg
When he got done under the house he got the fixtures prepped and I got a second coat on. Then we installed the fixtures.
We had a working bathroom in less than four hours!
IMG_20250630_160554067.jpg
I had to work around the fixtures to finish the drywall and paint but that wasn't really an issue. IMG_20250703_125934677.jpg

Calling this one done.
