Speaking of a "Blue Christmas"...

Contractor was here this AM, arrived just as they finished pumping and cleaning the construction *******.:poop:

He joked that he was going to go break it in as soon as they left...which he did, just before dropping his new $900 eyeglasses into the Blue Lagoon...

He ended up driving into town to get a set of shoulder length gloves to fish them out. He looked like he was suiting up to artificially inseminate a couple of Holsteins... 🐄

We're calling it the "Christmas Shitastophe".
I suspect this incident is going to be remembered fondly and frequently. :ROFLMAO:

Edit: changed the official incident name by request of the framing crew. 🤣

Scott, the sleigh and photo booth turned out freakin' amazing. Well done.
Thanks, Mike. It was a fun project, but I am glad it's finally done and I can move on to something else- like building my new shop. Supposed to have a crew here today tearing off the stucco on the existing garages so the framers can start on Monday.

No turning back now...the demo crew was in and out in about 3 hours. Peeled the stucco, 1" foam and lath off the two existing garage walls up to the new roof deck height. The main shop is going to have 12' ceilings, but we had to stay under the existing roof drain scuppers on the east section. Will probably end up with about 9'6" or so, the truss depth will dictate the finished ceiling height. Truss designer was here earlier this week to verify slab and stemwall dimensions. (Every dimension was within 1/8", most were dead on.)

Framing crew should be here Monday AM.

Following up on the general contractor dropping his new eyeglasses in the blue lagoon...

I found an old pair of glasses that were fairly similar to his and painted them bright blue.
Hung them up in the portajon this AM with a little sign while he was offsite running an errand.

The framing crew (his son and two old family friends) were all doing their best at suppressing laughter when he went to use it immediately upon his return...
Hilarity ensued when he came out...
