I've did the best searches I could and came up with not very much. Does anyone know the story of the old Crescent reversible ratchets with the "rapid reverse" push button?
1. I see the more readily available Crescent wrenches have a lever like everyone else so Im assuming the button is being phased out...yes/no?
2. Who actually made these? I've read that all reversible ratchet wrenches are made in Taiwan and that the cheapy non-angled head standard ratchet wrenches are made in China, but which Taiwan company made these with a push button.
3. Also, does anyone else market a button reversible with their name on it? I saw some by a company called Falcon, but they were both metric and sae, like 13mm and 1/2, that cant be good quality.
Any other bits of info would be awesome.

URREA just came out with an Push button reversible ratchet wrench.

Interesting wrench but it seems to me that the button would be accidentally pushed while using the wrench.

Before you turn up at Urrea because they are made in Mexico take a good look at there catalog and look at some of there tools.
They state that every tool is made using US steel.
A place local to me carries URREA and I like what i seen of the quality.
I am hoping they get these in so i can take a look at them.
Home Depot sells URREA online at big discounts but I have not seen the ratchet wrench listed yet.

I saw that Urrea was now being sold by Home depot and ordered a set of metric and SAE in every combination wrench they offered. They had some really nice prices and the Urrea I had used in the past was every bit as good as Proto. The tools I received were poorly finished and felt cheap. I took the 1/4 wrench and bent it with my hands. I returned them the next day.

The quality of the wrenches I have seems real good. I still have no idea who made them and if they were made with a button to avoid patent infringment.

That's to bad. The place by me that sold Urrea was a small bearing supply store. It was few years ago and some of the stock was old. Sounds like Urrea's quality has suffered.
