Quality of Snap on

Not a valid enough reason to post as a Snap-on quality issue far as I'm concerned. Just exchange em.

The small tools like your #0 phillips as well as tiny torx and allens sometimes get twisted or broken just because they are so small. I twisted a small allen a couple days ago at work. No biggie and I don't blame Snap-on.

And as for the off-center hole, that's rare for S/O. Check it when you get your replacement.

My Snap-on guy is about as accomodating about broken/warrantied tools as you can get and treats me as well as any professional mechanic that gets on his truck. It's been my experience that there are far more SO dealers like him than the ******* type. Oh, and as far as quality, I would agree that flukes are gonna happen, but Snap-on tools are still very well made.

The Dual 80 ratchets I seem to have the most problems with. Broken pawls and the handle on one of them slipped off

Snap On has huge problems with their impact wrenches and the newer models are effected including this years.The hammering mechanism breaks and gets sent in to get fixed 3 times every 6 monthes.Snap On has not fixed this right yet what I have heard.Plus their jacks are 100% piece of junk,made by Lincoln which are known for leaking leaving a huge puddle on the floor.Have one at work,a transmission jack that never gets used anymore and all it did was leak.Dealer never did anything about it.I have handed broken Snap On tools I bought on Ebay to the Snap On dealer down the road in my area to get replaced or fixed with no problems.I handed this dealer 2 ratchets which the guts inside were replaced,one from 1976 and on from from 1984.

Totally Not True, I wont deny that your ****** Jack is leaking but i would question anything purchased recently from Snap On being Walker/Lincoln Designed as about 80% of there Lift equipment is IMported now. Walker and Lincoln Jacks are NOT Junk, I will admit that the Newer models are not as good as the Older ones but they still will provide Years... of Service before a rebuild is required and they are superior to the import line available today.

Lincoln Jacks are junk,my father went down to an auction and there was a Lincoln jack there that had a big puddle under it,leaked.Was at a Chevrolet dealership that was bought out.This transmission jack leaked a lot and had to add fluid to it also bleeding the air out before using it.

Sorry Man... But your justification of 2 jacks (1 being at a auction WTF) doesnt condone a jack design that has been selling for 80 years via Walker/Lincoln and Now Hein Werner doesnt do it for me. Ive been working on Jacks for over 20 years and my grandfather has over 50 years experience i do know my stuff. Im not saying you didnt find 2 jacks that had problems but i would be more interested in what caused the problems.

I know a LOT of guys running MG325 and MG725 impacts (including myself) that have NEVER had a problem with them. A lot of those guys are working on OTR trucks and often use the 1/2" MG725 instead of their 3/4 guns. I will admit they had a problem with some of their older guns but not the newer ones.

I probably average 20 years on a rebuild on my Walker/Lincoln jacks, Im just now starting to get some repeat business on some of my early rebuilds. I cant even fathom the jacks that have come into my shop that had 30+ years from the original owner. Its very common for people to misuse there jacks and the longevity of the Seals is dependant on many different factors. There is no comparison between the Import jacks and the US made ones. Im not saying ALL Imports are bad, But they are designed to work sloppy and the seals used arent even on the same level as the Quality units. I have a fully documented import teardown in my signature if your interested in seeing the difference. Of all the Jack junkees here at GJ you are the first one that i can remember who ever had issues similar to yours. Again.. Im not arguing but your reference and grouping of Lincoln as a whole as junk is not correct to 99.9% percent of the World. A Jack design doesnt stay in production for 80 years creating junk products.

Nope... Thanks to your 7/16 Wrench and Lincoln jack that was leaking at a auction these companies are doomed forever. Way to go fellas... Im selling all my Snappy stock tomorrow.

Yeh boy, I'm going to believe ANY dealer when they start talking about another companies product....

What model of impact did your father buy? They have a bunch of them and I know they had a problem with one model. Your experience with one however is like me saying Matco and IR produce lousy impacts because I had one fail. Never mind that I own a couple of IR 3/8" impacts and a 1/4" air ratchet by them that have been flawless......The one that failed had a bad casting and was made up without a problem.

I'm not saying that Snap-on doesn't have problems with dealers or hardware, they do. For that matter, so does every single tool company in the world. Your blanket statements however make me wonder how long you have been around the business. I do business based upon a track record over time and so far, Matco and Snap-on have a pretty good record with Mac and SK right behind. That track record goes back to 1970 by the way.....

The jack business I will leave with Hiball as he has forgotten more than I will ever know about them.
