Just started on my shop. My dirt guy removed all the top soil, and it took 11 loads of clay, at 8 yards per truck load, to replace the top soil. Then he started to haul in 30 more loads to raise the building pad. After bringing in 5 loads, he spreads with the dozer and then would compact with his dump truck. The low corner was "out" about 30" from the high corner. It took 328 yards of clay and right now it is hard as a rock! I wanted to run some string lines, and took a piece of 1/4" round rod to stick in the ground to attach the string to, I could not push the rod into the ground.....had to hammer it in. Clay is what he used to build his dam, and therefor it should keep the water out if there is any. Very happy with it so far.
