It must meet code cause it was signed off multiple times a year ago when the building was complete. The new unit will be going farther down the wall which is towards the garage door.

Doesnt mean it met code. Inspectors miss stuff all the time.

Also since youre changing it, you would need to add an outlet.

Unfortunately, your #10 feeder doesnt have a neutral so you will need to run a new feeder or a separate feed for the outlet

I would just replace your existing disconnect with one that has also receptacle or maybe you can upgrade yours if you can run some extra wires in the conduit.

It is convenient to have a receptacle anyway imho.

It is only a 10/2 coming from the sub panel in the shop, so no neutral. You can not get 120 volts from this power source.

Yes, you are right I was hoping that that conduit might run in a way that he can get the needed wires in the box but I have to admit I am not up to date with every post here.
