Questions For Those That Installed Rust Bullet & Flakes

Just finished the first coat of Rust Bullet on my workshop floor and now waiting for it to cure so I can put down the 2nd coat and flakes.

Questions: How large of an area did you cover with the 2nd coat before putting down the flakes? Would you do it differently if you had to do it again?

Wondering if I could get by with 250 sq. ft. or if it would be better to work with smaller areas. It'll take me about 40 minutes for each 250 sq. ft. The humidity is in the 45 to 55% range.

Thanks much,

DC

The answer was yes. I was able to put down 250 sq. ft. of Rust Bullet before applying flakes. That was with temperatures in the mid to upper 70's and humidity around 50%. Overall the Rust Bullet dried quicker than I expected so I don't think I would ever try to stretch beyond 40 minutes or so before putting down flakes.

Any pics of the work? Trying to decide on what I want to do for my floors when they go in and before I move in anything big.

Rust Bullet project is finished and looks great. No good pics yet. I will start a new thread about the installation after I get a couple more things done in the workshop.

...Would it help if I created a page that was nothing but a huge photo album?

Justin,

Being a prospective customer for RB, I think a page of consolidated photo albums would help IF you could include the specifications of each job. I.E.- Album A shows 2 coats RB standard, random broadcast of X-123 flake, 1 coat RB clear. (Hopefully that made sense.)

I know that's a lot of extra work but it would make it pretty easy to send a customer to a set of photos of any given job that is similar to what they desire.

And a heads up, you've got a couple of blog posts (Skip's and Chris D.) showing the same photos for different jobs and the captions don't seem to be correct (stating photo of flake but picture just shows RB standard).

Thanks for the heads up. I will take a look at this. We will work on getting an album up as well
