Just perused the latest Costco Connection magazine earlier, and saw the ad:

I don’t see that listed anywhere. Can you point me to it? Thanks

I received the print copy of the February issue in the mail. It appears that the online magazine is still January, so probably have to wait a few more days for the February issue to post.

But I can assure you that I have seen the ad! :)

Here is a list of fluids that can be used in this unit. Which fluid would you use if you has easy access to them all? Thanks

If I had the choice, I would use synthetic ISO-32 as it is 10W and will work even in bitter cold temps. My garage is not heated...
Since my options were more limited, I used synthetic ATF, which I had on hand.

I used dextron 3 ATF just cheap stuff in yellow bottle. No need to get fancy here. But if they now say you can use iso32 or AW32 then I would rather use that.

Why does QuickJack have so many different versions of the power unit?
Good question. It may be that they use multiple sources/suppliers for them or have outgrown original suppliers.
I'm guessing some of it is trying to optimize the design for various reasons like weight and/or costs.

I've seen more than half a dozen different versions of the 110v power unit.
The original had a U-shaped carrier, with the handle facing the same direction as motor/reservoir, parallel to the sides of the carrier.
The later ones removed one side to have an L shaped carrier with the handle perpendicular to the wall of the carrier which is rotated 90 degrees vs the original design.

The latest ones seem to have no carrier with a handle on the pump and feet under the pump and the motor.

But then there are variations within versions like plastic vs metal reservoirs, pumps, control box (on top of the motor), and pendant control (the box with the buttons).

And there are at least two variations of the carrierless power units with different handles, motors, pumps and reservoirs. One has 3 feet and one as 4 feet.

So you never really know what you are going to get.

I received my BL-5000 SLX two weeks ago from Costco and this is the type of power unit mine was shipped with. It has the plastic tank that has an adjustable bleeder that has to be opened and closed if you move the power unit often (so it won't leak).

What do you do if your QuickJack is stuck in the highest position while your car is on it? How do you lower your QuickJack if it doesn't go down when you press the down button?

Are you having that issue? These use an electric solenoid activated valve that releases and allows all the hydraulic fluid to flow back into the tank under the weight of the vehicle. If that solenoid fails, I'm assuming you would have to fix or replace that solenoid before you are back in business. This could also happen with a regular 2 or 4 post lift if something goes wrong with the power unit. I'm pretty sure you have go up first to release the locks on all the lifts, before you can release the pressure to go down.

What happens if your manual jack blows a seal and won't lift the car off of the jackstands?

I ordered mine from Costco on Sunday, 2/10 and it arrived on Tuesday morning, 2/12. I had it set up and used it that afternoon. My 110V power unit looks the same as your photo with the metal fluid reservoir and the self-venting cap:

My wife and I have 3 track events coming up in March and April and this will make things so much easier to swap brake pads before/after the events. I'll also be doing an oil change on her car prior to the first track event. I used my RaceRamps to do my oil change a couple of weeks ago but I can't use that for brake pad or wheel swaps.

TomF,
What are the feet made of on your unit? I have the power unit with the green motor and plastic tank and the four feet on mine are hard nylon and don't quite line up so the unit rocks back and forth a bit.
I'm going to replace them with rubber feet.

It would be very difficult to work on the exhaust, O2 sensors, catalytic converter with a Dannmar Portable Mid-Rise Scissors Lift.

Mine has three hard nylon feet, two under the middle silver port component and one on a bracket under the motor. It sits flat on the garage floor with no rocking. You can see the three nylon feet in the photo above.

I've read other discussions about the version with four feet rocking, and replacing the nylon feet with rubber feet seems to be a common fix.

3 feet will always be flat on a reasonably flat floor level. 3 points are coplanar.
