QuickJacks. Opinions needed

Thinking about a set of QuickJacks to aid in storing a car. Does anyone have any opinions, thoughts or experience with QuickJacks?

I'm currently looking at their BL-5000SLX model.

When I say storing a car I should clarify. The car, 2019 Shelby GT350, will not see snow and thus will be in a garage (we live in Southeast Michigan) over the winter. The car will need to be moved out of the garage to the driveway on most weekends thru out the winter. The garage is also my woodworking area hence the need for the car to be moved outside from time to time.

My thought process is that these, QuickJacks, would be an easy way to quickly raise up the Mustang while not in use and quickly lower it back down to be moved out of "storage".

Is this even necessary? We've never had a car before that we would not drive on a regular basis so this is all new to me. Should I put the car on Jacks to begin with or not, seeing how it might be moved at least every other weekend in the winter.

The clearance on the GT350 is very low so the QuickJacks are another way/tool to get the car airborne for oil changes, etc. I do not have a lift nor is the garage used for this vehicle tall enough to put a lift in.

QuickJacks website does say that once the vehicle is lifted on QuickJacks it can remain in the upright/lifted position indefinitely.

Have used them for Healey 3000 for about 4 yrs now. Great to get to tires, exhaust, oil change, lube job(23 zerks) and store car up about 2 ft off concrete floor. Move around under car on cardboard as insulates from cold concrete.

I've had a Quickjack BL-7000SLX for three years now and its been great for doing maintenance and repairs on variety of vehicles. I've only had one issue with a fitting that began leaking but Bendpak sent a new one for free even though it was out of the warrant period. It is a quick process to get the Quickjack set up and a vehicle raised especially after you have done it a few times and know where the lift blocks need to hit on the bottom of your car.

For your use, why do you need to store the GT350 on the Quickjack? I think you are going to get really annoyed having to lower it down every weekend to move the car out and then back in into the garage. There have been plenty of debates about whether or not it is ok to store a car with the wheels off of the ground for long periods of time. However, those debates are typically talking about being stored that way for months and not a week or two. I would recommend leaving the car on the ground especially since you are going to be moving it every weekend and would set up the Quickjack only when maintenance needs to be done.

I have the 5000ext model and it works on my 2003 tbird and grand marquis and explorer and mark viii's just fine. I wouldn't want a shorter one. As a matter of fact, if you ever play to lift a pickup get the 7000 lb version. My explorer is a little shaky on the 5000.

Can't figure out why you'd want to store it 2 feet off the ground. Storage lift you can park another car under? I'd understand that. But to raise it slightly off the ground makes no sense to me.

Honestly a complete waste for what you want to use it for. Just park the car and back it out when you need to. The tires aren't going to disintegrate from sitting a week or two at a time

I am with the folks who say to just park the car without lifting it. If you are really concerned with the tires sitting for long periods of time (flat spotting) just pump the tires up to max pressures. Then when you do decide to drive it lower the pressures down. You could also use 4 pieces of carpet to put under the tires if your concern is the tires resting on concrete for extended periods. No need for the QuickJack unless you were planning on buying one anyway

Yes and yes, do tire rotation & brakes. Also an owner of the BL-5000 EXT
The EXT is 6 inches longer, matches the rocker panel end to end.

To me that is more stable, and getting the car centered very easy. The SLX is 1/2 of a foot shorter, allowing the car to be off center accordingly, forward or aft.

Quick jack has a locking mechanism that will hold the car in the air until the cows come home.

The big reason I purchased the Quick Jack. Was not able to wrap my head around jacking the Mustang from the sides to get it in the air.

See how the lift rail matches the rocker panel.

Use it one time,.. you'll realize money well spent. I would not want cup2's standing/sitting..... carpet or no carpet.

NICE hot rod BTW.
What color ?

Guess I do not understand the need to lift the car up while in storage(?). Why not just leave it on the floor? Your moving it out and in once in a while should take care of any possible flat spot on the tires.

If all yer worried about is flat spots, search Amazon for “tier flat spot preventers”.
As for the QJ, I bought one of the early 5000’s and upgraded it to a 7000 a couple years ago. Great tool.

Love my QuickJack BL-7000SLX. Clearance not an issue even on my lowered Miata. Using slotted QuickJack blocks and hockey puck. I often see Costco now carries these and put them on sale at times.
