Is anyone familiar with a Quincy AT5 compressor head. All I can find from google searching is QT5 information. I found a used one for sale and wanted to get some information on specs and parts availability. I sent a message to Quincy but they have not responded.

vvpieces,

Thank you for the quick reply and link. Unfortunately I do not have a RevBase account. May be why whatever this is did not show up in a google search?

Thank you. I had gone to the Quincy home page and put in AT5 and it came back as not found. Didn't see this page.

Welcome.
I used https://compressornow.com/ for parts.
Parts direct from Quincy and most suppliers were 3X the cost.
Most of the parts I ordered were actually Atlas Copco part numbers because they were the best price. Not sure if Atlas has a crossover to the AT-series. From what I see in the parts the AT-series is different than QT.

Anyway I had a lot of time spent searching for my QT5 parts and then More time trying to find parts that were affordable. Quincy is Nuts...

vwpieces,

Thank you again for your help. The link you provided gave me all the documents I need for operation and maintenance. I went ahead and purchased the head because it is a Quincy and even their new low end products are supposed to be pretty good. This is a late 80's unit and it looks like it is very similar to the QT5 so I am hoping for pretty good performance.

Tore it down and it actually looks pretty clean. There was an oil leak from the HP cylinder but the walls look good with no scoring at all. The reed valves were dirty but nothing obvious that would have caused it to be overpressure. I am going to clean it up and order some gaskets to give it a try. When you add in shipping it appears that Industrial Air Supply has the best prices for what I need.

This is definitely their consumer grade compressor but given how much I will use it I guess that it should be good enough for me. Worse case, I got the 5HP motor and Mag Starter for a good deal even if I don't end up using the compressor itself.

Sounds good!

After the sticker shock for a valve plate on my QT ($350) I found a roll of 1/2in wide 0.015" thick spring steel on MSC for $47 shipped. Fixed the valve on the cheep to get by. Later located all the parts for a lot less to do it properly. Including the HP piston, both ring sets, gaskets and the valve plate for $250ish shipped. Parts are still in the box waiting for round 2.
I am a stout guy, and I still need to remove the flywheel off the pump before I can lift it on my own. Tank is too tall, and I'm 5'10". Main reason it's still not done.

Finally got back to working on the compressor. I cleaned up the valves and put on some new gaskets that I got from Air Supply.

The compressor and motor did not come with a tank but I had already purchased an 80 Gallon tank that was almost new. It looks like the Quincy compressor was on a tank that had a side entry as the output tube came straight out of the head and had 2 - 90 degree bends that connected to the tank horizontally below the compressor. The tank I found had a bung in the top of the tank with a hole through the plate that the compressor mounted to right above it. I cut the outlet tube in half, stripped back some of the fins, and was able to connect it to the tank that way. Took a lot of thought to get the head relief tube set up and the motor was now on the left of the compressor instead of the right, but it is back up and running.

I was surprised by how quickly it filled the 80 gallon tank to 125PSI. I have a couple of leaks caused by using inferior fittings off of Amazon and I still need to clean up the wiring, but it runs pretty darn well and I have less than $350 into the whole thing.

Thanks again for your help in locating the parts.
