Can i have it until he needs it? Is it pc, xbox or ps3?

Answer # 1. No lol. He took it with him to have something with the cold winter months in Chicago.

Answer #2. I believe it's PC, I'll ask tonight when he calls.

Holy ****! I've been wanting to do something like that for ages. Like to know what simulator software he uses and what wheel and pedals!

Nice setup. I have done something similar for my son, though I'm not handy enough to actually build the seat/table. The one thing I did do myself was add a seat shaker system to it. It's pretty simple and amazingly cheap, so it might be a good addition to your setup. The shaker pucks are $13 each and the T-amp is $24 from parts express. This gives pretty realistic shaking over rough roads or on impact (the effect varies a bit per game depending on how they've set up the audio):

the stuff looks like Logitech equipment, ran thrue a PC with an ATI video card that supports triple monitor, on a simple TRI stand, looks like triple 22 or 24 inch monitors.

reason for ATI, they do triple monitor with a single card, Nvidia most cards support 2 monitors, need to run twin cards for 3, a cheap ATI card will run you about 70 bucks to handle the triple, anyway now that my geek has been shown, you would love my set up.

full flight gear, or race gear, AMD 8 core 3.6ghz water cooled, runs 4.4 ghz rock stable, 16 gig ram, triple 32" and a ATI 7990. gaming has a whole new feel.

The wheel is either a Logitech G-25 or G-27 (G-27 being the newer version of the G-25)

This is a one-off these guys built, if it were enclosed with the 3 screens the sensation would be indistinguishable from being in the actual car.

The wheel in the pic must be a G-25, this is the set-up I have with a G-27 -

Thanks for the neat idea, I'll go over it with my son.

Very nice, I'm afraid that would be above my mechanical abilities as well as my pocket book.

Very interesting thread so far... I like the idea of motion feedback.. The shakers get you a little closer..

The shakers do give you motion feedback if you get hit (it really feels like a substantial impact), but it doesn't give you any G-force feeling in corners. It does add a lot to the experience though. My son has one game where he can drive on a seaside boardwalk and when you drive over it it feels exactly like what you would expect in a real vehicle driving on plank boards to feel like. Usually the effect is more subtle, but it still adds a lot on most of his driving games.

Just got an e-mail from my son, here what he had to say.

"The wheel, shifter, and pedals are from Logitech (the model is Logitech G27 I believe). I will use a custom gaming PC from CyberPowerPC. The main reason I will use a PC is because I will race on iRacing.com. Check out their site. They have good simulation racing and all sorts of cars - including Legends cars!"

After reading it here I joined iRacing.com, the graphics are about what you would expect, well, to be fair, they are better than you would expect outside the car, about what you expect on dynamic scenery, a large community it looks like, but like most of these sites, you pay to get in, download their software, and then you have to pay further to access specific race tracks and cars. It is a fun site, and fun racing other people, fairly intuitive layout, easy to navigate. It would be an awesome site if they would say upfront that the big list of tracks and cars they show you cost extra.

I remember somebody selling something like this on another car forum I was on (akarally.com). He said it brought new meaning to the words "Drunk Driving!" :lol_hitti
