Well, after having my Race Deck tiles on a shelf for 10 months, I finally got the garage to the point that I could install them! Overall, I am very happy with the product and installation was very easy after I got the hang of it. I even pulled the center section out a couple times to change the pattern and it was extremely easy to do. I plan on splitting the tiles into 3 sections each spring and drag them out onto the driveway to pressure wash them and the concrete underneath.

A few cautions from my experience:

- The Race Deck installation video shows a guy with his kids "stomping" the tiles into place. I tried this and some went together easlily while others ended up bending the tabs over the adjacent tile and leaving a permanent dent (that pissed me off!). I can't see how anyone can do an entire floor this way and not damage their tiles. After messing up a half dozen tiles, I used a putty knife to align the tabs and then a rubber mallet to set the tile. This works perfectly with no damage, but it is a lot harder on the old knees!

- Be very carefull cutting the free flow tiles on a bandsaw. Two of mine ended up breaking on the last part of the cut and left me with a missing corner piece. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with this as the webbing is very fragile once the boder is trimmed off. The regular tiles are much tougher.

- Buy a few extra tiles with your initial order. Between the dented tiles, broken corners and one miscut tile, I now need to order 8 extras.

Hope you like the results!

How do you think it would look if you did the entire floor in free flow?

A lot of concrete shows through the free flow tiles. They don't look as nice as the regular tiles in my opinion. I only used them to ensure good air flow under the tiles.

Hi- Your garage looks great, and you don't need to "buy" 8 new tiles, just give us a call and they are on the house no charge...tell them I said so:thumbup:

My guess is that the struggle you had with some of the tabs was the floor was trying to square itself and the lugs were not exactly lined up with the loops, so they had nowhere to go...sorry you struggled in this... A slight adjustment by sliding the floor slightly will get it square. This is also why an L shape during the install is recommended...anyone else here that has an issue while installing, just give us a call.

Racedeck will have another sale once I'm to that point pretty soon- summer +/- that no charge post sealed ( no epoxie garage floor pun intended) it. The place I bought one of my fancy cars in Bethseda MD had a grey race deck that they would park the cars on to photograph them I thinks its race deck anyway I loved it maybe you can make it out on this photo I took when I picked it up.

This looks great. So, tell us a little bit about this race deck flooring such as: size of the tiles, cost, what are they made of?, etc.

Those tiles at that dealership look really nice - next time you are there ask to go to go into the garage - that is were the Bentley's and Rolls Royce are parked on nice Race Deck type flooring.

How are the tiles when they get wet? I received my sample in the mail the other day and really like the product. Just wondering how slippery they are. Kind of hard to test it with just the one tile.

I wash my car in the garage on the tiles & haven't had any issues with the floor being slippery.
