Racedeck and tire chains

I've been planning my Racedeck stuff, the co. has been helpful, sending me the samples, etc. I just had a thought. Some winters, I end up using tire chains on my pickup, and I install them and remove them on the garage floor, where it is dry and I am not fighting snow to do it. Naturally.

Am I going to need to plan on putting down some, say, strips of old plywood or something to protect the tiles from the chains? I am talking chains on all 4 wheels here. It isn't a deal-killer if I need to do this, but I am getting rid of extraneous "stuff" while cleaning the place out and will need to hang on to some old ply pieces if this is a concern.

Anyone have experience in this?

The tile samples look great, meanwhile.

Hi Steve!

Thank you for considering RaceDeck for your application. We are located in Utah, where we get a lot of snow ourselves. RaceDeck was designed with all of the elements in mind. The chains will not damage the floor at all.

Thanks, Jorgen. I figured so, but I wanted to double check. Samples look great.

Steve,

I'm glad you received the samples! Where are you located?

I am in the Colorado Rockies at 8500 ft. elevation. Meaning, UV is a factor for anything in sunlight. I am working toward putting some of your UV stabilized tiles [Duragrid] in a "carport" which is actually enclosed except for the front, open to the sun. Or, I am thinking the Duragrid in the area that receives direct sunlight for several hours a day. The color selection for the UV stuff is limited, but I am ok with that part. I have a tablesaw and chainsaw sharpening area and vise, etc., set up in a little nook built off the carport itself and that can take any of your tiles.

Thanks to your staff for sending samples out so promptly.
