I've been contemplating buying Racedeck for my garage floor, but I'm still unsure of the product. I've contacted them directly with some questions, and they were very kind and even sent a sample (I didn't even have to request one). So...I decided to do some stress tests
.
Have you all had any problems with your Racedeck flooring? My garage is used for multiple purposes (lifting weight, autmotive work, yard tool storage, etc), so I dropped hammers, shovels, etc on it. Unfortunately, I got some pretty noticable gouges when I dropped a hammer and a light, level spade (not point down) on it. I was even able to make light marks on it with my fingernails. I didn't get any dents from my floor jack without a car on it, but it's a nice low-profile, professional jack, so the wheels are nice and wide. But what if I had a car in it? Will it create permanent dents?
Now, the sample was a bright yellow, so the fingernail marks showed up in certain lighting and that may not be an issue if I get the darker colors I intend...but it is still disconcerting. Is this the durability I should expect? Or did I receive a factory second just for samples' sake?
I was also thinking of getting through garageflooringing.com since they are affordable and ship for free...apparently it is Racedeck but they can't advertise it...if I decide to go that route. Any input on that front? I'm definitely on the fence about all of it. I know a lot of guys have posted of their successes here, so I'm not ready to write them off yet.
Thank you all for your help, and be safe out there!
