Which model is that wall mounted tire rack?

And did you have to modify the mounting spacing (16" studs vs more conventional 24" studs)?

Thanks!

Looking great.

Thanks Warren!

Thanks!

I picked those two tire racks up from TireRack.com. The mounting brace/bracket is designed with a 16" orientation. Someone smarter than me could probably figure out how to adapt to a 24" stud spacing. I've been very pleased with them. Not sure if the ones they offer are the same, but I haven't had one complaint since installing mine.

Oh, that's cool that it ended up in the print flyer. I'm a huge deal as you know.

A few months ago, I was excited to be a feature in Pan the Organizer's "Pan & the Organizers" series on YouTube. For those not familiar, Pan is a popular YT personality especially within the detailing community. My garage was first up in his second episode.

How does the Slate Grey look with winter salt? I’m also headed to Swisstrax slate and pearl grey, but wrestling with which would be better as a border and which for the main field.

Thank you.

So they are using this chalky calcium chloride mix here and it blankets the tiles with a white residue once the runoff dries. It looks terrible, but there's nothing I can really do about it. It comes off easily enough with a quick mop though. I don't think that should be a mitigating factor in your colour choice imo. The slate grey is a nice colour but it doesn't hide a whole lot.

Re: Rick's Audi Double

Rick, I just received this and was thinking how am I going to mount it. So I strolled through your thread again.... Command mounting strips....why didn't I think of that! Glad I came to the right place.

Thanks for the great idea!

Where did you get the Audi rings? That would look great above my garage door.

Hey everyone! Just checking in to let people know that I have discontinued my Flickr subscription so as of the end of April, the vast majority of photos in this thread will be unavailable. I have enjoyed contributing to this thread over the past many years, but with Youtube and Instagram, I just don't see the point in paying to upload photos and keep photos posted on a thread that has run its natural course.

Of course, I'll be checking on other gallery threads time to time.

Feel free to follow me on my other social media platforms.

Rick, I’ll be the first to say...... you **** :lol_hitti. Big loss as you had a ton of great content that I know helped mould my first creations. I can attest to the pain in now having to pay for a host for images. I went the ImageShack route and pay approx $30 a year to keep my time capsule alive :) As mentioned following you on your other streams is still possible.

I support this decision. Tons of free social media settings without the need to spend $$. Unless it’s business related and there’s a direct correlation return of value.

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

Wow, that's a great question. I don't think I've based my garage on any specific garages, but I've definitely borrowed elements from a number of them. Most recently, EMC2's triple pushed me in a direction to simplify my overall design. The aluminum letters are one of my favorite changes made since finding this forum. The Red Room is probably my favorite garage at this moment. I love the color combinations used in that one. Basically, I spend a lot of my time cruising the "Let's see some 2-car garages" thread. What impresses me the most is the attention to detail paid by new and old members. I look to many single car owners for inspiration in terms of maximizing my space. Dubber, Derrickwade, Allinon, 93Toy, and others inspire me to make every inch of my garage work for me. Nico's 20x20 detailing garage is one I've been watching closely too, because he is on track to creating a perfect car detailing utopia and I'm sure I'll be borrowing from his bank of ideas in the very near future.

Hey Rick, how do I look up those members garages you like ? I tried pasting their names in the search box with no luck. I also like the products from Griots Garage.

Hi Nico, the bar you see is from Ikea. I added a wooden spacer to bring it out from the wall an extra inch. Here's the link:
http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/20213538/

The RaceDeck Free Flow tiles do not have a "tray", but they do keep the debris from spreading once it drains through the tiles to the floor. The 1' x 1' tiles contain the mud, so it settles, but there is enough clearance between the tiles and floor to allow water to freely flow under foot. I'm making them sound like magic, but they basically become a modular set of grills. What is amazing about the design is, I could hose down my entire floor, but in a matter of seconds I could run a paper towel across the floor and it would be dry. The curved profile of each "rib" means the water can't do anything except flow through to the floor.

Keep the tiles clean isn't such a big deal, but there is some effort required to unfasten the tiles and rinse the floor underneath. The more mess you drag into the garage, the more often you will find yourself going through the process I outlined earlier in my thread. I have survived three Canadian winters and I feel like my floor still looks brand new. It can be done, but it does take a certain level of commitment to achieve the clean look I've been able to maintain.

Glad to hear there are people who are digging my esthetic. I never really set out with a plan, but it has come together quite nicely. Especially over the past year. Thanks for noticing.

Sorry for the question mark, didn't mean to use it.
All of my Cobra and related engine forums etc. are very slow as well.

Re: Rick's Double Garage in Calgary, CAN

Man, you got me feeling all nostalgic now! I picked her up in '08 from a dealer in Parma, Ohio and drove it home with a buddy of mine. It had 20K miles on it and I sold it 2 years later with 30K for what I paid. I sunk a bit of dough in it, but it was an absolutely amazing car. I took a CTS-V for a spin when the 2nd generation was released. It kind of ruined the STS-V for me, though. The neck-snapping grunt of the 556 bhp made the subtle 469 bhp of the STS seem too sedate so that marked the end. Plus, I wasn't willing to subject it to the harsh elements of an Alberta winter so she sat for 8+ months a year. But, gawd was she pretty:

This car had the Tango Red interior treatment. Photos make it brighter than it actually was. I really liked it.

I picked up a set of chrome OEM rims:

I put the Borla/GM Performance exhaust on it:

I drove a 77 CDV in High School. I'll have to dig up a photo. The 928S4 was my all-time dream car growing up. I still have all the brochures I got from writing Porsche Canada. We obviously have very similar taste in cars.

Love the Cad...when my wife retires we're gonna buy one.
Has to be the higher HP.

This is our 427 Cobra I built. 427 with 600 HP/TQ.
New stacked injection for this year.

Thanks for the posts, everyone.

As far as garages that inspired me, it would be hard to dig up those threads since I can't really remember the thread titles. At any rate, I have begun featuring garages on my personal blog: https://www.radgarage.ca/other-garages.html

I'll be adding to that page when I get the time.

That STS-V was a special car and it still have a place in my heart. This is even better: https://www.cadillac.com/sedans/ct6-v

Twin turbo v8.......can I retire now? Told my old man my retirement present to myself will be a black caddy, don’t care if it’s old or new, just must have a v8.
I started looking for a used second generation CTS-V in 2011. I don't buy new cars so my choices were limited. I didn't want a high-mileage one from a rust-belt state or one that was thousands of miles away. I also didn't want a silver, white or green car (black, red or gray was OK).

Mother's Day 2016 my son made an innocent comment that resulted in my wife telling me: "Go buy your Cadillac." When I got home and did a quick search, a 2011 Thunder Gray sedan with black interior (and Recaro option) popped up. It had 11,700 miles on the odometer and it was located 6 miles from my house. A little haggling and I drove it home for $41,500.

They only built 2,085 sedans that year so they hold their value -- low mileage cars are still selling close to the price I paid (four years later mine has just under 17,500 miles). With its 6-speed automatic (with paddle-shift) it gets to 60mph in 3.9 seconds. I haven't verified that because I'm not comfortable checking my watch after flooring it. It's also possible mine is a little faster because a previous owner added an Airaid cold air intake ($450) and a Corsa axle-back exhaust ($1,400). At least it sounds faster. :bounce:

I'm not sure what the occasion was but in 2012 Andy Pilgrim (driver of the #8 CTS-V coupe) signed the strut bar on the car.

Im not sure what you mean. But forums in general are getting slow as far as I have seen. Several I visit, mostly bmw related, have had the same threads on the main page for months.

Forums are slowly dying, as the modern kids are moving to facebook and instagram, which COMPLETELY ***** because you can't search for anything and had better have your settings right or you're gonna miss content. I fricking hate facebook for car builds.

Driving that CTS-V kinda ruined the STS-V ownership experience for me. It is an amazing car. The newer gen's are just insane imho.
