radio flyer wagon

has anyone here built a radio flyer wagon that's custom? I wabt to build one to match my suburban if that ever gets done. I need help with the front axle not sure on how to build it with steering. I also have the idea of using valve springs as coil springs. im trying to build this thing lowered kinda hot rod. thanks for any help. Joe

Here is a picture of the one I built (the wagon, not the car).

I have done some more work to make the front prettier. My son likes taking it to events because he gets a free ride.

I have built a bunch of them over the years. I like to do strollers from pedals cars but the Radio flyer wagons are fun too.

A friend built this for his son. I have since made a few with this design and have a jig made up for the frame.

I'm about 3/4 of the way thru this one. Shoot some primer, color, and clear, and build an adult length handle. It also has handle that allows it to hook to a garden tractor or power wheels. Handles swap by pulling a hairpin. I have the makings and designs for at least 4 more different wagons, off-road, hot rod, tuner, and led sled. Been thinking a low rider w/ air ride would be cool. I've got 6 kids, so I better get cracking.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the pics and instructions you showed on the above link. I used them to build the steering linkage for a wagon I built as a welding fab project several months ago. That was by far the toughest little project I've done so far. The hard part was getting everything to line up properly so the tongue would turn left and right without binding. I learned a lot about measuring, cutting, and welding when I built that wagon. Without those pics of yours I would have had a hell of a time making it. If I get a chance, I'll put up some views of it to show how it turned out. Thanks again bud.

I just built two. This one is done and was given to a friend with a newborn baby.

I built the front dropped axle and just about everything else you see other then the shocks and hubs.

I have tons of construction pics if you need anything specific.

Hi Mark,
That looks amazing. I personally would love to see the construction picks of that model. Very jealous.
Radio flyers are not popular over here in Ireland but looking at all of these cool picks I think it's something I should look at for the new baby on the way. [emoji51]
