I've just discovered 4 of my drawers are missing the trays (can't believe I didn't check before leaving store). But I'm looking to find if anyone has some alternatives to the standard grey plastic dividers. I don't need sections, but sectional would be fine. It's the size which would be hard to match.

It may be easiest to just throw down a sheet of ply and put shelf liner on that, but I think the plastic bin may look/work better. Originally I wanted to store parts in here, but they are really too large for anything other than tools. (except for maybe Legos, that was awesome!)

Looks like i missed the RS stores closing, i was living out of the country at the time. Does anybody know who makes these? or where i can find something that is very close to the same? I don't need amazing quality, actually i want the exact same drawers, but can settle for something else if anybody has any ideas. it would be fore storing audio adapters / cables / tools / computer parts etc. nothing really heavy. But i need the larger depth and width of these cabinets vs tool cabinets. and preferably a good price. IF anybody has any they would be willing to sell for 100 a piece I'd consider picking them up if your not too far away.

Thanks!

Man, you missed it by a LONG time. That was two winters ago.
If you're on Long Island, I've got one I'd consider parting with for $100.

You have one of the Radio Shack cabinets you'd be willing to get rid of for 100$? The one with the pullout drawers, dividers, etc, that are gray in colour and have those long labels on the front of each drawer?

The very same. I got three grey ones at a closing Shack, but am only using two.

We have a baby now and she's not very old. I'd have to talk it over with my wife to see what she says. We're a bit tight on money, because we bought a house as well. If she says yes though, I'd be interested. I think Long Island is maybe a 5 hour, 5 and a half hour drive from here.

Do you have any pictures you could send so I could see the one you'd be selling?

Thank you!

I got some similar ones from Tractor Supply when they were doing a re-set.
Lowes and Home Depot have similar. You might be able to talk to their hardware supplier and find out if they have some extra or what they do with them at re-sets.

Geez! It's a halfway nice box, but seriously not anywhere near "11 hour drive + traffic & tolls" nice! If you've been to RS, you'd know they're nowhere near Lista quality anyhow.

Thank you for your honesty. My wife seems to agree with you on the 11 hour drive, so it's out of the question. I have four of them, I want 8, but I think I will never get the other 4. If I knew how much I'd love them, I would have bought all 8 when they were going out of business, but they wanted a lot of money here for them.

Rather than get hung up on the timing, I'll ask the question again. Does anyone know who manufactured the parts bin drawer cabinets that were used in Radio Shack? That information would help out a lot of us. Thanks, Jon

Went by my local RS and they want $300 a piece for the cabinets. To high for me.

When I noticed the going out of business sign I stopped in and inquired about the cabinets, 8 total. A clerk took my info and said they would call. A couple of weeks went buy and got a call, $2400 for the set. I said no, too expensive. A week or two later got another call $2000 for the set. Again too expensive.

Kept looking on CL and found a microfiche cabinet, all steel, locking drawers, etc. 10 drawers tall so its about 4 1/2ft high and around 24 X 30. Drove to Louisville and paid cash. The now previous owner and I could barely get it in the back of my truck. Unloading it required my hydraulic lift table.

Not Lista or Vidmar, but just as good construction & design. Glad I waited.

BTW, the store closed Monday and I didn't even bother stopping in.

Hi,

I'm on Long Island and I have some RadioShack Cabinets and shelves that i don't need anymore. RadioShack's current closing stores are selling the 7-drawer units at $300 each with tax, but I'd do them for much less but in cash.

They have the normal RadioShack plastic trays inside, some are gray metal and some white.

I can do pickup sales until the end of this month or deliver to most of Long Island, Queens, and Manhattan (at an added cost of course).

I also have some of the metal shelving, in both white or silver, as well as POS unit and servers.

** I happen to have some new wood/metal pegboard in my garage as well, I planned on using it but I replaced it with a different solution.

I'm available weekends mostly. Send me an e-mail at: [email protected]

I cleared out the one in my garage today, its gray and has the labels on it. I have some more in storage with or without labels. Willing to part with this one for $150 cash.

This is the form I found this site through and thought I would comment!

I just got a call from a radioshack in the next town over saying they were accepting my bid for 6 units at $85 each. So excited to get these into the shop and start filling them up!

I noticed my Lowe's uses the same cabinets in the hardware aisle...might be worth asking a Lowe's manager how they source parts/replacements for the cabinets.
