Here is the issue with Radio Shack in a nutshell. Every single thing in that ad from 1991 has been replaced by the little 6 inch LG G3 I am posting this message from right now.

There's two stores in my area with no intention of shutting down per the employees not sure how that works. They had no sales going on which was a bummer

Went to a store about 10 miles from me yesterday and they were selling everything, then went by a store that's real close and they weren't selling anything. The kid that worked there said that not all stores were being closed but that he really didn't know what was going on. I really didn't see much that I wanted even at 50% discount.

ST. Ann MO store (near St. Louis ) has 7 of the drawer units left and sold me mine for $100. Wouldn't go lower and wouldn't include contents.

Well, almost everything... Not the speakers.

Here is my $10 Grab Bag. They had to ring everything up, and the receipt is 10 feet long. Retail was $2,343.53 which was then marked down to $10.

I went to a total of three stores. Got a $10 Grab Bag at one, the second store was open but completely empty except store fixtures, the third was actually locked up with a sign on the front door saying "No more merchandise".

I wasn't able to score any of the 7 drawer parts bins at reasonable prices, all the stores held their ground at prices higher than I wanted to spend.

1st, you ****!
2nd, what was $1000?

Everything except those Mach II speakers.
I still regret not getting a pair.

Oh, and I was a Radio Shack salesperson in 1991.
I remember those ads.

I'm thinking those discounts are by Category or Department Code, not individual items. I got a **** load batteries, basically emptied the shelves (button cell, alkaline, rechargeable). I also got a **** load of AC/DC power adapters and plugs. So, the $1,000 and $800 would be those.

I've got enough button cell batteries to power a small city.

sad that they are on there way out. I used to modify my Halo B paintball gun loaders to use rc car motors and run of 2 9volts. That was about 10 years ago. Kids getting into the sport today have 10+ vendors that sell loaders and theres no need to heavily modify anymore.

Went by to pick up my 2 drawers today. They were closed but the guy told me to call when I got there. They were nice enough to even load them in my truck.

When I got home I checked the drawers and all the plastic dividers were gone....

my fault, should have looked. Not sure I would have used them anyway, but still. I planned to make some as I wanted to have more smaller sections.

I am at a Radio Shack waiting for them to open. Mgr comes and changes the discount sign to 40-60% off. Scheduled last day is tomorrow. Looks like I am waiting for nothing

There's a feeding frenzy going on over those drawers here on Long Island! People are paying full asking price for them! I'm waiting for a "deal"! Did anyone find out who made these??

Went by our local store that is closing, They had the boxes marked at 300.00 and they all had sold signs on them. The Mgr. said one person came in and bought all of them. 2400.00 plus tax. My thought was SUCKER

The last store in my area closes the last day of March, and they have all 8 sets of drawers. They want $175 each, I asked today for a price break, they said no. They said come back about a week before they close and they will cut the price probably in half. The problem is that every store I've been to, as soon as they cut in half to $87.50, they are gone right away. I've been holding out for 50 bucks, but I think I'll bite at the $87.50 price for maybe 2 sets, if/when they are available again.

I've been cherry-picking some soldering supplies at 50-65% off, but even at that discount, must stuff is still overpriced. I was about to buy one of the Digital Soldering Stations for $57. But I'm afraid it would break or need parts or tips, and I would have to junk it. If that goes to a true 50% off at $44.99, I might get it.

Holly ****. Maybe if they were 100% stocked with parts, and the parts were included for $300 a box, it might be worth it.

I was able to get a deal on the parts cabinets, $75 each. Beaverton, Oregon store. They wanted $175 each, but took my offer. I will get them when they get closer to closing - they are about 2+ weeks out still.

Made 300+ dividers. I think they came out great! Used thin sheet metal and bent in 1/2 with my sheet metal brake.

I have two of the parts drawers from RS. Both have the $300.00 sign on them. I paid $50 each.

My store also was selling the parts drawers @ 175 EA. Said they had a waiting list, so I didn't even bother making a bid. I would be in @ $50, keep 2 and flip the other 6.

In looking at them, not so sure they would handle a semi-full load of hardware.
