I've just been buying small parts bins at garage sales for less than $10 each. The RS would be nice to have but not for more than $25 IMO, because there are other choices

What can you get that is even close to that size and has ball bearing slides for $25???
I bought two of these for $50 at one of my local stores.
I just went and checked them out in my loca store. They were marked at $150 each or $700 for 8 cabinets. They are not very high quality. Worse than HF IMO.
HF doesn't make parts bins.
. . . I should've added that a guy bought all 8 for the $700 when I was there.
When people spend more money to store small parts than they spent on the parts themselves, then they need to reevaluate their priorities.![]()

Your choice, is your choice. My choice is MY choice. Money is more dear to me when I can get something that does the same thing, store small parts for less money.

Well considering I have one drawer that probably has $150 worth of saw blades and grinding wheelsin it I dont really think thats the case. If you dont have $50 worth of stuff in that many drawers I think you need to reevaluate what you need storage for worthless **** for...
On the side of my garage, I have an 8' long storage cabinet I picked up on CL for $200 that has 48 hand dovetailed pine drawers (about half with wooden dividers).
I use this for materials storage, so of the drawers in my garage, this has the LEAST cost density (compared to tool storage). Off the top of my head, many of the drawers have less than $50 worth of materials. Several have screws (and nuts, bolts, etc). One has strips and sheets of rubber, and another has o-rings. One has gasket materials. One has masonry anchors and nails, and another has staples. One has washers. Not expensive, but certainly not worthless **** either.
The drawer with the tiny screws brads and rivets probably meets your $50 threshold. As might the drawer with adhesives, and the ones with stainless and bronze hardware, one with screw eyes (a lot), and another with brass plumbing fittings. The one with carbide masonry drill bits easily does.
I bought three of the RS cabinets. One is in the house, and my wife has filled it. The two in the garage are still empty. I haven't had a chance to work out how they're going to be used yet.
