Rat killing around the shop

Took some time and cleaned the shop some, it really needed it.
Welded some chain links on most of the vise grips and gave them a squirt of oil, a good upgrade I feel.

Needed a rolling stand for a Diacro bender.
I had a 12" flanged spool and a couple square tubes that had castor mounts already on them, so it was an easy chore.

Something that has been annoying, is moving the ground clamp from table to table or to the vises.
Made up jumpers for both tables and two vises, so all four are always grounded, now
Can't forget to move the ground now!

Hmmmmm....that is a serious flanged spool....left over from a nuclear power plant?

The vise I use for most cutting and grinding was about 10 steps from the fab table and it was high time to move it closer.
The vise stand has wheels under it, making for an easy move.

It was a 100 pound steam line that came out of a utilidor that provided district heat.

Good asumptions bad idea,
For me, rat killing is taking care of neglected chores, while in between projects.
No idea where the phrase came from.

Today, moved the drawing table and rehung the associated tools.

The beauty of a Diacro #4 is you just use the ratchet (the roller chain circle around the OD) and all of the bending load is taken up within the bender itself (between the ratchet and the center tooling)

You can bend stuff that way which would take a 10 foot lever arm to do normally

Found a roller that had the right ID and OD, for a roller nose on the bender.
It was harder than Chinese arithmetic, had to cut it to length with a side grinder.
Worked out well

This bender came with only one, wore out locking pin.
So, got started making one out of three pins today.
The pins are 13/16",15/16" and 1-1/16 major diameter and 3/4"minor diameter turned off center by 1/16"
They cam themselves in, to hold the bar being bent from moving.

You should re-read Eric's post before spouting off. He was complimenting Royce's work and calling it interesting.
