By the time he figured out which ratchet to use, I would have the job done...LOL

Oh I know which one to use, this is my second FAR 720 air ratchet, wore out the first one and the two blue points before it.I had the dealer principle walk out in my bay at the ford dealership one day and hand me a hundred dollar bill in front of the other techs and tell me in the twenty years he owned the place he had never seen a warranty matrix as good as mine.Warranty matrix was the ratio of time spent on a car versus the actual time he could bill Ford.Similar to flat rate times.

Not to get off topic, here, but are the hard handle ratchets really that great? I see many of you have a large portion of your collection in hard handles. I always thought they looked cheap (I know they aren't) and I always thought it would feel like holding a screwdriver ......just weird...

But, I've never tried one! I may have to pick one up at a swap meet this summer....

Its all personal preference. I have a hard handle 1/2 ratchet and it does not rock my world. Its ok, not fine tooth. When It breaks I will send it in to snap on for a new replacement. But It might be years.

If you don't mind me asking how much for the S872MP? I just got a couple of them myself... They are pretty nice and heavy also.

I think it was around $110 shipped, I found out after I bought it that I could have gotten one for $100 shipped from Chad since Snap-on still has some NOS in the supply chain.

I am looking for a ratchet I had as a teen before it was stolen. Around early 1980's. Ingersoll Rand owned Proto and came out with a Anniversary or some sort of limited edition ratchet. Would like to get one if possible...Do you guys have any knowledge of or pics. It was a one piece, no round head. It was given to me from an Ingersoll Rand Exec. any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks
Drew

Chreese, are you shooting those in a soft box or something? Those are pro-quality shots!

My brother ((almost) a professional photographer - he hasn't finished his apprenticeship, yet) took those pics with his Nikon D700 and lots of other fancy and expensive equipment. And he obviously knows how to use it. Due to my lack of knowledge, I can't give you any details about the stuff he works with, though.

Have a nice day,

Chreese

Here is an interesting 3/8 Armstrong I picked up with a knurled handle I hadn't seen before. 11 inches long. Stamped with Armstrong Logo only, no model number. Must have been made for Govt or something similar?

So, Moose.... how many ratchets do you have; have you counted them all? :)

I've tried counting and lose count every single time. Somewhere around 50, but not sure of the exact number. I use most of them, there are about 5 that get used the most but the others have their place in use too.

There are also some bit ratchets that aren't pictured.

Nice collection Moose! What, praytell, is that red handled ratcheting 1/4 driver on top?

It's from T&E Tools from Australia. It was given to me by another member. It's a great ratchet, the head swivels 180 degrees (it has 5 or 7 locked positions) so you can easily have it at 90 degrees to break something loose, then set it straight and spin it off like a ratcheting screwdriver. I use it all the time removing undertrays and covers. It's a great little ratchet. :)

L-R: Duralast (thanks Mrholeshot!), Proto Pro 5252, Wright 3426, Cman RHFT 243796, Cman Slim VT-44995, Wright 3430 (Everyone should own one of these!)

Misc:
IMG_5865.jpg

Ratchet Driver A4RPS (no name, was 1st tool I purchased while working at hardware store in H.S.), Chapman CM-13 bit driver... I rarely use either of these anymore, but they are ratcheting drivers.

NOT PICTURED: A couple SK 3/8 & 1/2 rh's and Cman raised panels. I use the raised panels for slogging and the SK's are at home hanging on the wall.

Note: Teh duralast has held up well for 2weeks now, used it on front end MB w124 work and a few other jobs, works fine and have no real complaints other than personal gripes. I always used breakers until this ratchet for high torque fastener removal, I have been missing out and am now considering a few other long handle 3/8 & 1/2 (prob. a Wright contour)...the long Arm. up top sparked my interest too.

Thanks everyone, this is fun stuff.

PS: Dear Apex/Danahar/Sears - Please get production in gear for the new Premium ratchets, I'm not waiting around forever... $$$ will be gladly spent elsewhere.
