I'm considering this one...any opinions?

I have that same exact one, and the matching SK stubby, I also bought a Snappy shank to use my 1/4 sockets. Love both screwdrivers.

The Bahco ratcheting screwdrivers is compact and small, indeed. I don't use it regularly or extensively (depending on the application I prefer a standard screwdriver, a standard-sized ratcheting screwdriver or a cordless drill/driver) so I can't comment on the question how comfortable it is to use for an extended period of time/a large number of screws but for a few screws, it's fine, in my opinion.

Hope this helps,

Chreese

Mickey O, was that plier-wrench a production model....or something you fab'ed up? If it's the former, what was the specific use? Looks cool, either way.

They are Belden Chicago 7505 Battery pliers, made by Duro I would assume, from alloy artifacts:

Duro-Chrome 2114 battery pliers, marked "Forged in U.S.A." with "Des. 119,441" for the design patent.

The design patent #D119,441 was issued on Mar. 12, 1940 to W.A. Sandy and assigned to Duro Metal Products. link (at very bottom of page)

Bam:

Sorry for crappy pic. I can do better.

Bull.. that's a Thorsen? Any idea of age? Also the "drive end" looks like its recessed for a 3/8" extension or something? I have an oddball extension I kept that was a male 3/8" on both ends. Looks like it might go with that driver?

Yessir, a Thorsen it is. I believe that the patent info dates to 1981...I looked once and that's what I recall.

As for the extension, I am not sure if what you describe fits this tool. The drive end holds a standard sized bit.

But then again, I might just be dense and not understanding what you are describing.

Ahh for some reason the drive end of yours looked pretty large and I wondered if it was 3/8" drive or a standard "6pt bit" type setup. Pretty nice piece sir.

Thank you! I love oddballs above all else, and this is the only one of these I have seen since I started hunting for tools in recent years.

Here are a few pics that are of better quality than the last one.

Haha!

That rocket-handle is actually pretty comfy in the hand.

Thats what she said.......... (sorry its an The Office joke)

That is a weird looking driver but very cool I have certainly never seen anything like it. The shape, color, etc would've made me think early 1970's.

I've wound up with the three pictured below...............

1) I'll need to order cap for black SSDMR4A. Someone offered up part # before, but I didnt print or copy info ????
What might be collectablity, desireability, value of Black Hard Handle ???

2) Are these Orange SSDMR4B's still mfg/sold new.............or are they only trading hands as used items........Value???

3) SGDMRC4A Is this the "soft" INSTINCT.......Curious how popular and if users like to interchange misc other shanks for driving nuts, etc
What is best bang for the buck source of misc 1/4" drive bits ???

Honestly the Black handle and the Orange handle are still available from S/O so they won't trade for new/near new prices. Depends on the buyer but usually $30-45 used depending on condition, etc.

I searched for "show and tell" thread devoted to ratcheting screwdrivers and this old thread was the most appropriate.

Shown in the photo (top to bottom) are a Creative Products Easydriver, a smaller Speedball Easydriver, Craftsman 941464 B, Williams WRS-1, and Enderes KV-1.

The large Easydriver saves wear and tear on my wrist when building woodshop projects. I've been using the old Craftsman ratcheting screwdriver for miscellaneous home projects.

The Williams and Enderes are recent additions. I'm looking to use the Enderes as a replacement for the Craftsman. The Craftsman has no bit storage and I don't want to keep walking back to the tool pile to retrieve the right bit for each job.
