And the reason I didn’t think of googling is that OEM Tools site calls it “GoThru®“ which I didn’t realize is a common tool type. Went to the OEM Tools site earlier and looked up the socket set by SKU and it didn’t explain what it was.

But no matter, I thank you for your five seconds of typing a response.

Thanks. Can you explain what the pass through sockets do? I haven't seen/used these before.

can be useful on longer studs or drop links and strut top mountings with hex you need access stop it spinning while turning nut .
also can create pretty compact socket/ratchet setups for awkward space scenarios .
