Recommend me a oscillating tool blade to cut steel

I need to cut some exhaust manifold bolt's. Roughly 7/16'' dia.

I tried a couple of blades that I had on hand and it just instantly smoked them.

Had a friend say he likes Imperial, but never cut a bolt that big.

Can you guys recommend anything that won't break the bank. Thanks

Yes I do, and a sawzall. But there's no room to get in there. And the fuel rail is right there too.

Dremel? I like the ez-loc 1.5” discs for metal. Never had any luck with oscillating tool blades but I had only regular bimetal blades. Try this maybe:

The answer to your question is: There are none. Dremel with an abrasive cut off disc is the best solution and you'll need several of them.

I'm in the "oscillating tools don't have metal cutting blades camp" for your purpose. odd nails & screws are all they can handle

I selected this blade for cutting a soft steel hinge with my dewalt 20v oscillating tool. NO OTHER type of tool would fit my space restrictions (and I am the poster boy for Dremel fiber reinforced abrasive wheels). The Bosch carbide tipped blade worked perfectly.

I tried to cut a screw off with my oscillating tool and I smoked the blade fast. I'd say they work fine for soft metal like nails, but nothing hardened.

I'd ditto the recommendation of a dremel with a cutting blade on it. You might blow through a few of those as they wear fast and break off easily(that's why they come in tubes of 20), but it'll work eventually.

The Dremel will work, used it on an ancient trailer years ago. Be careful though, the cutting wheels can shatter and fly. Good luck!

Bosch makes a carbide metal cutting blade that will work. I have used on for to cut bolts before.

I've had good results from Diablo carbide tooth version. Swiss made and available from my local big box store (in Australia anyways).

The Dremel will work, used it on an ancient trailer years ago. Be careful though, the cutting wheels can shatter and fly.

I guess that's why they come in containers of 50.

Use the ez lok metal cutting 1.5” discs if you can afford them. If you like creating dust, wearing blades out and unscrewing them and changing them, then the 50 pack abrasive blades are the way to go.

Well there’s two of us then. Haha. I too love the fiber reinforced cutting discs. Use them ALL of the time.

Bosch carbide tipped blades will work great for you. Have cut quite a few bolts with the same blade even.

I have had good luck with Diablo blades (for metal) from Homedepot.
If that doesnt work, like other have suggested, Dremel cut wheel.

You can, if needed, cut steel with an oscillating tools. Used my Fein to cut the 1/2 bolts off my Case Vac's center clamp similar to the photo below. Difference between the picture and mine: mine was on the axle with no way of cutting it any other way (bolts on the case were originally rounded, carriage bolt type bolts).

I used the finest tooth count Fein blade that came in the kit and just took my time.
