Sadly, it only takes one or two bad experiences with a Snap-on dealer to make you realize how frail and uncoordinated the whole network seems to be.
I have been between dealers for over a month and needed to replace a worn metal hinge on my older Blue Point lift lid service cart where the rivet pin was failing on one side. It was bought used from a different local SO dealer who has moved, so I enlisted the help of a dealer that services a facility near my home.
Now I could have warrantied the hinges and broken lower plastic pull strips, but I went down to the temp. driver and asked if I could just order them and pay cash. He said no problem. It's now 4 weeks later after I ordered the parts and is now ducking my calls and saying he has to call Snap_on to see the status of the parts. This is for $11.oo in parts that "I" am paying for and I stood on the truck as he plugged in the order. Srsly?
God forbid I try and order anything that's $100.00 and up or is warranty. And I go to him. No gas expenditure for him and no truck account. Just cash.
If he doesn't want my business, fine. That's all he had to say.
Funny how people complain about how tough the business climate is and yet are unable to complete a simple business transaction when a new client shows up at their doorstep.
And while doing so I sit here with a well built busted-azz service cart needing $11.00 in parts and no one wanting to take my money.
