That could be, but I would think the box is older because of the rounded sides. Thinking early 60’s from MB&C co. but not really familiar with the timeline of their logos. Sure do like the little man logo handles though. Post it on vintage boxes these keen eye collectors will nail it for you.

Bingo! Hey I was pretty close!
Smokeshow69 revealed the RemLine date location for the 64 box I picked up. Really handsome boxes these RemLines, those designers and craftsmen really personified American design.

The Remline badge with the little man was certainly in use from 1960-67. I have a Remline stack with the little man badges and handles dated 1960 behind the drawer. I've seen the same logo used on boxes dated as late as 1967.

I have always been under the impression that the script only Remline badged stuff was later than 67 and right at the time period when Powr-Kraft was turning them out.

Someone in the toolboxes of garage journal thread will know for sure.

Very collectible that “little Rem-chanic” era. Could you post a photo of your ‘60 stack set? I’ve got a 64 chest I’m looking for the roller cabinet. Sometimes they’ve been painted over makes it hard to spot. What about the acorn nuts on the handles have you seen them, possibly on the 60 set of yours? Thanks

I will check the drawers when I get home. Here is the only pic that I have on hand. The paint loss is from battery acid that leaked when it was still with the PO. Both boxes are wearing original paint and hardware. Never messed with.

I bought one of those sets about 1970, when I was 18 or so. The bottom box was all drawers. I upgraded the top box to the much larger XQL box that sat on the rounded lower box for a few years until I upgraded to the biggest Snap-On box sold at the time, which now doesn't look so large. One of my first mechanics still uses the rounded bottom box so it has been in constant use for about 48 years. The XQL top box has been in constant use for about 42 years. Can't complain about the quality of those boxes!

I looked at both boxes that are all original. Acorn nuts are used when people restore these boxes and don't want to source replacement rivets. A pic of my top box shows you the original factory flat face rivets used.

You can get rivets from Restoration Supply Company online. They make threaded rivets that are extremely close to the original cinch rivets.

Here are the part numbers I've used on several Snap-On boxes. You can decide if you like the rivet style by looking at the part numbers on their site.

NUT250
NUT267
NUT776
NUT028

I have no affiliation with the vendor. I've just used their products in the past.

Thank you TH13 found the latch and key. Whoa it’s like Disneyland for toolies and tinkerers on this site!

Yea they have just about anything you need to complete a restoration. I've ordered all sorts of things from them. I'm glad you were able to find the parts you're after.

To the OP, I'm sorry for the thread jacking. Hopefully the info I dropped in here is useful to you as well.

Picked up this 10 drawer top chest today with original key! Box is in fairly nice shape minus the dent in the top from someone trying to break into it[emoji849][emoji36] almost no rust and most of the surface rust will polish off the handles! Makes me want to find the matching 9 drawer lower roller! Even came with a key! Date coded ‘59

Nice Remline box Smoke. I've always liked that drawer layout as it is very similar to vintage Craftsman ten drawer chests like the one you are looking for. Ed.

I think those RemLine boxes were made right after the Heritage boxes of the same design, and I am betting that Sears changed suppliers and AMD was left with all of the plans and sheet metal and they just said "why not sell them ourselves?"

And RemLine was born!

This box was made in 1959, which places it at the run of similar heritage era boxes since craftsman introduced the red and grey in 1961. They were made simultaneously but I don’t know the exact time line on the remline chests. I would love to see catalogs but there is not much available

Yes, this is very close but not quite the 10 drawer I want. It is in fairly good shape minus the dented lid. I am trying to decide if I find a matching lower roller or do I hold out for the unicorn craftsman stack? I hear your shop is getting crowded?[emoji41][emoji23]

Hmm... I thought they had switched over in 1959. The 1960 catalog shows the newer styles, but I am no Craftsman expert by any means.
