Im restoring and old Remline and theres no 2 digit date stamp behind the badge but after sanding down the body i came across these numbers. is this some sort of date code? That could be, but I would think the box is older because of the rounded sides. Thinking early 60’s from MB&C co. but not really familiar with the timeline of their logos. Sure do like the little man logo handles though. Post it on vintage boxes these keen eye collectors will nail it for you.
View attachment 1i have a 1967 top and that logo goes back to at least 1959 i believe. i think this other boxes logo started 1969.
. i have an old powr kraft i cant get a birthday either but from research i think late 50s? View attachment 1i have a 1967 top and that logo goes back to at least 1959 i believe. i think this other boxes logo started 1969.

heres the 67Bingo! Hey I was pretty close!
Smokeshow69 revealed the RemLine date location for the 64 box I picked up. Really handsome boxes these RemLines, those designers and craftsmen really personified American design.
The Remline badge with the little man was certainly in use from 1960-67. I have a Remline stack with the little man badges and handles dated 1960 behind the drawer. I've seen the same logo used on boxes dated as late as 1967.
I have always been under the impression that the script only Remline badged stuff was later than 67 and right at the time period when Powr-Kraft was turning them out.
Someone in the toolboxes of garage journal thread will know for sure.
Very collectible that “little Rem-chanic” era. Could you post a photo of your ‘60 stack set? I’ve got a 64 chest I’m looking for the roller cabinet. Sometimes they’ve been painted over makes it hard to spot. What about the acorn nuts on the handles have you seen them, possibly on the 60 set of yours? Thanks

Thanks for checking the handles out. I could live with the acorns if I had to.The latch lock on mine is boogered up, Gerstner has a replacement latch for the princely sum of $40.oo sheesh.
Thank you TH13 found the latch and key. Whoa it’s like Disneyland for toolies and tinkerers on this site!

finished the remline for my daughter. turned out pretty good!!

I think those RemLine boxes were made right after the Heritage boxes of the same design, and I am betting that Sears changed suppliers and AMD was left with all of the plans and sheet metal and they just said "why not sell them ourselves?"
And RemLine was born!
Nice Remline box Smoke. I've always liked that drawer layout as it is very similar to vintage Craftsman ten drawer chests like the one you are looking for. Ed.
