wiring my garage now and planning on two liftmaster 3800 openers, I wanted a unclutterd ceiling so would like to have one light operate off both openers. I contacted liftmaster their optional light needs a receptacle and would come on by radio signal from opener but both cannot operate one light due to they have only one channel per light any ideas ??

yes, even if they both could turn on say one of my permenant lights. other wise for there lights two outlets in the cieling and two seperate lights . Conventional openers would have lights on them so it wouldn't be a question, but these openers mount to the torsion shaft. And again looking for a un clutterd cieling. Just tell me if I'am being stupid:willy_nil

That remote light that comes with the 3800 has 2 light sockets. I think there is a receiver/controller in the housing that turns on both of the lights. Maybe you could install the second receiver/controller in the same housing and have them turn on 1 light each.

Maybe.

When mine were installed, I had one light that would turn on when either door 2 or 3 were opened. He fixed it in just a minute but after seeing that, it can be done, just don't know how.

You program the opener not the light. One light should be able to be operated by two openers. I think Liftmaster gave wrong info.

You can have multiple openers operate a single or multiple lights. I have two openers and four lights. Each opener operates all four lights.

There is a button on the light that you press to put it in program mode. You press that button and it's LED starts flashing. You then press the light button on the keypad to program it. Repeat this process for the second opener.

If you have multiple lights you just repeat the process for each light.
