Thx for the replies, I should elaborate.
That switch only has one function. It turns the furnace fan ON only by itself. It does not affect the furnace itself, which will continue to operate normally all on its own regardless of the position of that switch.
However, when the furnace is not running, I can manually select that switch to ON and it turns just the fan on individually to recirculate ambient air throughout the house. See how its marked "Circ Fan"? It uses the furnace fan as a re circulation fan as well as a method to distribute hot air to the ducts.
My furnace does not run very often. I'm wanting to utilize that circulation fan to periodically come on......some kind of timer to turn it on and off a few times per day. I could do it manually, but it's in an inconvenient area of the home and I'd like to automate it.
