Don't roll your eyes too much, but the Harbor Freight cord reels are about as good as you can get on the cheap with using the 20% coupon. I have a couple and they have lasted years.
good tip!I have both air and power retractable reels, just manual clock spring type. I keep a shop rag near them and as they rewind I hold them with the shop rag to remove and dirt they may have picked up while in use. Keeps dirt and junk from winding up in the case or mechanism and causing any problems.
