They check the serial numbers so that doesn't work. And I'm far too honest to smash a perfectly good tool like that.

If HD collects serial numbers, that is new within the last year. They have talked about it and the systems support it, but it proved problematic operationally and was never implemented.

Okay, here we go.......Maybe it's all in the delivery......... Myself, I'd quietly reply with something like........ "if it were me......" Or perhaps if you wanted to conduct church, maybe private message them? I think that shaming someone in front of a studio audience, especially with the name calling just really makes the person doing the self righteous bit, look a bit like a "Do Gooder" *******. A thing to make yourself look good, at someone else's expense. Furthermore, I'm fairly certain that each of these chest beaters have done the same **** at one point or another in their lives, and certainly go screwing people in other ways they conveniently fail to see. So really. I mean could elaborate, but such discussions might get offensive to others, but let me just say that I worked with a Hallelujah, praise ya what ever sort of guy that sat there and pounded on another fellow for some ****, much like some are doing here, then this same guy stuck it to me on my pay check, then justified it because of his religion. WTF? Details if you like.

If it were me I wouldn't assume religion has anything whatsoever to do with doing the right thing.

I would return it to another store and just claim I wasn't satisfied with it. If pressed I'd make up something but I wouldn't damage the tool.

It doesn't. I just know that a certain fray of People are hypocrites and liars more than others, but all people are liars to a certain extent, and so this notion of being right, and you are wrong and finger pointing by a finger pointer that has equally lied or connived another person, or will connive in the future just doesn't sit right with me. Let a person figure it out for themselves without your honesty convention.

+1. If you spot it, you got it. My experience suggests the most judgemental people are usually the ones with the deepest flaws.
