any good videos explaining this ? been interested, but not able to find a good utube video explaining it....
Post some finished pic of it in action pls.
There are dozen, probably hundreds of videos on YouTube on rocket stove (for cooking), rocket heater and rocket mass heaters.
They all work on the same principle. Air is drawn in at the bottom. Once the flue is warm, the "draft" causes a lot of suction making it sound like a rocket.
From what I can tell, the OP design is more of a "stove" NOT a heater. Heaters start with the same design, but surround the flue with a non combustible thermal layer (concrete, vermiculite, etc). Then the entire "stove" is placed into a second enclosed chamber. There is head space at the top so the flue gases come out and are forced down and out the chimney exit which is at the bottom.
Sizing of the chimney and the feed/air inlet are some what critical. When working properly, they will burning pretty much any solid combustible material.
A "mass heater" adds a lot of mass typically in the shape of a adobe "coach" that is heated. The mass holds the heat for a long time.
This is a 15 part series on building a rocket heater. You only need to skim through the first couple of videos to see where he is going.
