rough wiring circuits in studded walls

Is there any standard or limit on the hole size drilled into studded walls for running circuits with Romex?

I know you're not supposed to piggy back Romex under staples (unless you use the special stacker clips) and I assume this has to due with heat dissipation in cables when they **** near max amperage allowed in the circuit.

So it has me wondering how tightly I can pass Romex runs through the studs.

I drilled 3/4" dia. holes and now am going to need to run more separate circuits through there than originally planned (2 @ 12-2 and 1 @ 14-2 and 1 @ 14-3).

Do I need to drill another set of holes offset from the first, or can am I good to go stuffing them all through the 3/4" holes.

First thing is to maintain the distance of 1 1/4" from edge of hole to edge of stud, so that's a maximum 1" hole perfectly centered in a standard 2x4.. I've never run more than 2 wires through a 3/4" hole, just to prevent damage to the insulation and make it easy pull the wires. Drill another hole a few inches above or below the ones you have.

Good advice above I usually use a 7/8s hole with a max of two wires if in 2x6 studs 2x4 I’ll tray and do 3/4 with two wires

I'm centered in 2x6 studs... so I'm covered there.

Is there a hole size that would be considered "standard" for this situation?
