Years ago I had an old fold up router stand. Basically a piece of particle board with folding legs & a metal plate in the middle you could mount a router under. Total piece of ****! Never level, shaky legs, & if it rained in the next county over, the particle board swelled up. The only thing decent about the thing was the metal plate the router mounted to. I kept that, threw the rest of it away & built a mid-sized roll around work table. Cut a hole in the plywood top, mounted the metal plate from the router stand, & hung a router under it.
I wired an outlet box to one leg with a plug so I could plug it in to an extension cord. The router is permanently plugged in to one of the outlets. The other is available for other tools I use on the table. Sanders, Chop saw, jigsaw, drill press, etc. One of the most useful tools I have.
