Never build one since I don't have a strong needed for one other than a small craftsman one... There are few plans out there especially the ones from "fine wood working"

Maybe check them out.

and there are few that uses the table saw extension area as an add on.

Unless you do a lot of routing on bigger stuff, you may not want a table/cabinet like above. My space is limited, so this is what I do. I also made a ******** table for the full size router shown.

I filled in a bit on the guide extensions for my fence on the table saw and made it with a spot for the router to mount into.

I have been able to get the cutouts for kitchen sinks from countertop fabricators, the laminated Formica tops make good tool tables.

I used a remodel or salvage cabinet as a base and added casters
and dust collection. I hinged a Rockler double router table to top it off.
I have two Hitachi 3 hp routers inside. Setup for cope and stick work.

I made a lift for mine out of a Bosch plunge router base, bolted it to a small chunk of poly cutting board and embedded that in the cast iron table extension on the tablesaw. I made an extension fence to make use the rigidity of the tablesaw fence. It makes for a nice deal.

Years ago I had an old fold up router stand. Basically a piece of particle board with folding legs & a metal plate in the middle you could mount a router under. Total piece of ****! Never level, shaky legs, & if it rained in the next county over, the particle board swelled up. The only thing decent about the thing was the metal plate the router mounted to. I kept that, threw the rest of it away & built a mid-sized roll around work table. Cut a hole in the plywood top, mounted the metal plate from the router stand, & hung a router under it.

I wired an outlet box to one leg with a plug so I could plug it in to an extension cord. The router is permanently plugged in to one of the outlets. The other is available for other tools I use on the table. Sanders, Chop saw, jigsaw, drill press, etc. One of the most useful tools I have.

Just the opposite. I have a metal router table that I removed all the router stuff and now use it as a table to hold my chest of 4 drawer nut and bolts cabinet, plus storage on the lower shelf for other stuff.

I think repurposing an old table or cabinet would be fairly easy. Would basically involve cutting a ledge into the top to allow the router faceplate to sit flush to the table. Also make sure the table has enough overhang to clamp a fence to it. Install a plug in the cabinet fed by an extension cord, and add a switch to the front of the table.

I don't have the space to dedicate to a standalone cabinet, so I built one into the table saw cabinet. When not in use, it doubles as an extra wide table for the saw.
