Thank you. Very good points.
When I get my own EV and install a charger, that will definitely be hard-wired. I’m not there yet - just trying to put my unused circuit to work, and provide convenience to our visitors and guests without breaking the bank.

I have two electricians working up an estimate.

If you have the circuit already, do the hardwiring yourself. We can help if you have questions

2 electricians never got back to me with bids after taking measurements. One had estimated $3,000 to add wire and put the temp-service panel near the RV pad (over budget.) Other one guessed ~ $800 to install it next to the existing main panel (more than I want to pay for such a "simple" job.)

Electrician who installed the main panel came back today to repair something else (whole-house fan stopped sucking.)
I had him estimate it. He says $1,000 labor for near RV pad - but I'd need to add a junction box, additional breaker, and ~50 more feet of wire. So a solid 2 grand with panel.
$600 labor to remove and reroute conduit and put RV service next to the panel.

"I could do that!" says the homeowner. So I think I'm going to. But I'll need a 75ft or 100ft 14-50P -to- 14-50R extension cord to get the power to a useful location. Are Vevor extension cords trusted at the 50A power level? Or should I be looking at the Parkworld or Southwire ones?
Hubbell 9450A receptable is already on hand. I'll probably order the Siemens Talon TL137US panel next week. I do have a BIL and a neighbor who are electricians, if I run into trouble. Plus, I'm sure I'll continue posting here once I get going.

As long as they are 6 awg shouldn't make a difference (may have an 8 awg ground). On RV "extensions" it's mainly about not using a ****-tastic connector on the end of them. I have Vevor cords, but not at that length.

Most RVs don't come close to pulling 50A because they can split the legs. It's usually the "30A RV" that you have to worry about because of a single leg. That will include any RV that you park there that uses the "adapter".

I'd say you could roll your own with Southwire SOOJ cord, but it looks like it's $5.64/foot for 6/4 + shipping.
