Thanks, I'll look into it. I'm not sure the original chargers supported Li-ion. The NiCad batteries are $70 for a two pack at Home Depot, almost as much as a new drill.
I don't think that you are supposed to use the old chargers with the new batteries. I would suggest buying one of the combo deals. They usually come with a tool or two, a couple of batteries, and a charger. ...or you can hit evilbay.
Note that I have three of the newer chargers. I keep one with the road box, one in the garage, and the last one in the woodshop. There's a drill in each location. The rest of the tools kind of float to the different areas that I use them.
I think the new chargers will charge the lithium and nicads. Since I got the lithium batteries I've gotten rid of all of the nicads. They don't have the power or longevity of the lithiums.
