Thanks, I'll look into it. I'm not sure the original chargers supported Li-ion. The NiCad batteries are $70 for a two pack at Home Depot, almost as much as a new drill.

I don't think that you are supposed to use the old chargers with the new batteries. I would suggest buying one of the combo deals. They usually come with a tool or two, a couple of batteries, and a charger. ...or you can hit evilbay.

Note that I have three of the newer chargers. I keep one with the road box, one in the garage, and the last one in the woodshop. There's a drill in each location. The rest of the tools kind of float to the different areas that I use them.

I think the new chargers will charge the lithium and nicads. Since I got the lithium batteries I've gotten rid of all of the nicads. They don't have the power or longevity of the lithiums.

My new drill came in yesterday so it was 9 days total.
It seems like a pretty decent drill. It almost but doesn't quite fit in the molded carrying case for the original drill. My batteries are shot so I didn't get to play around with it much.

What model drill did you get as a replacement?

I also sent mine in for recall. They gave me a blue 1/2 in niced drill. It works well. Some chuck wobble. It's nowhere near my Makitas but I use it around the house no prob. This is the first pic I found. It drilled well with decently dull bits.

How long ago did you get your replacement?
