wow, i was out for a couple hours. this sure went sideways after that. first of all, most farmers are cheap. do you know why? i'll tell you. if you are a mechanic, how many jobs do you do in a day? in a year? doctor, how many patients in a day? in a year? pick almost any profession, how many times do they get to perform? as a farmer i get one shot at a harvest. one performance per year. i deal with floods, winds, droughts, insects, disease, frost, breakdowns, most all out of my control. i put nearly all of my life savings on the line every year to do what i can to support my family. i get 30 , 40 , maybe 50 times in my career to perform. how many times do you get to prove yourself. i could be wiped out in a heartbeat. i have gone backwards in the past and lived on virtually nothing. i have not attacked anyones profession so don't attack mine because you think i'm cheap. next nissan crawler, i don' feel bad if you can't landscape or do home improvements. you have a job. i will feel sorry for you if you can't feed your family. furthermore don't talk to us like we are idiots because we like our tools. if you hate your sk tools that much you should not have bought them. did you try any of those tools first? to spend that much money on something you dislike so much was foolish on your part, not mine. none of us made you do it. it seems like you have more issues than just a brand of tool you don't like. sometimes if you don't have something productive to say maybe you shouldn't say anything. thank you garage journal for letting me vent!
Umm, I never once said you were cheap OR mentioned your profession, where are you getting this from? Do I know why farmers are cheap? Well, since I was born and raised farming 3,000 acres, and had 4 generations before me farm, yes, I know it quite well. I'm from the same state you live in, no less.
I never said you were an idiot for liking them, I said that *personally* I don't think they're worth the money, pay attention. I also don't think Channellocks are worth the money, many people here do, that's the way it goes.
I never asked you to feel bad for me, where did you get that from? It was suggested (and was a good idea, had I money) that i give them to somebody starting new, I explained why I couldn't, that's it. As for the family, the only family is 3 cats, and when money was tight before, they got fed while I waited until I was paid the next day, so don't worry about my "family".
My choice was to buy those wrenches, or not get my education. It was not up to me what tools I had at college. You bought the "provided" set, or didn't attend.
Please show me one time on this board where I have called somebody an idiot for liking a brand of tool, if you can find it, I'll eat my words.
I'm not sure what your problem is with me, but get over it. You like SK, I don't, big deal.
