Sorry I dont have any numbers but each wrench was had a polished bright chrome look just like snap-on. Each wrench also looked like a gear-wrench but the whole head would move. They had the Craftsman logo on one side and China stamped on the back. Hope this helps...

They also had other sets of high glossy polish wrenches and they were marked craftsman and on the back it was stamped china. Not able to get those numbers either but they were not cheap in price. (Each set featured a gear like style); I guess that's the way sears is going these days!

No offense, Woody, but you're a little late to the dance on this one. This sorry state has been covered in other threads. Splines, elbows and dual ratcheting combos are all made in PRC. If Sears decides, like their Canadian stores to go all China, all the time with Craftsman, I'm done with them.

Those still are along with the raised panels, it seems all the new wrenches they are coming out with are overseas origin.

I still want to get some basic tools and a tool box to keep at the railroad and it looks like I'll just get the old raised panels standbys, especially for a third set of tools I'll own. I won't spend more money for Cman tools made overseas, for that much I'd spring for used truck brands!

The new ratchet wrenches are china **** to!! Seent it myself:(

Here is the thing, if they are GearWrench re-labels, we don't have anything to worry about really. GearWrench ratchet wrenches are FINE!. If they are not Danaher GearWrench we have a problem.

Why buy China Craftsman over GearWrench,:headscrat Why not just sell GearWrench and skip China Cman? I don't see what the trouble would be worth, I'll have to investigate, and see if they are Danaher or not.

Maybe they are not, those black Cman spline wrenches, from Sears, are **** chilli, and no where near Danaher/GearWrench quality. So maybe they are doing the Harbor Freight thing at Sears.

I've got a couple sets of the C man standard (non flexible) reversible ratchet wrenches,USA made, had them about 12 years and worked the hell out of them, day in day out with not one problem. If this applies to them as well,I won't bother taking them back when I do get a failure. I'll just replace it with a S O or Armstrong and call it done. That is, if they haven't outsourced by then.

The nice thing about GearWrench tools, are most of them look like high quality USA tools, but no China/Taiwan stamp...............so you almost forget where they are made, when you use them.:shocking:

In the "old days", everything said made in Hong Kong, China will run out of room, they manufacture ALOT, and they are gobbling down Big Macs now, and buying Buicks. Before you know it, China will be a greedy, obese, country, then 15 years from now, we will be complaining about some other country. Like India or.................................Gobba Gobba land............LOL

id rather spend 10x as much on a a wrenche from snap on or armstrong thats USA made then buy a asian, chinese tool

Ditto that. More **** we buy that is "made in china" the fewer and fewer good paying jobs there will be here. It isn't rocket science.

I've yet to buy snap on but am going to have to give them a closer look.

Ah -- so they substantially lowered the cost of manufacturing & yet somehow didn't lower the price to match.

When the Chinese are too fat to work, the Vietnamese will step in and take over. :D

I wouldn't put it on a push bike never mind my car. .....put it back in it's box and return for full refund..

If you continue to by this **** they will assume you really want to purchase it, this will only encourage them to source more.

If they are proud enough to mark it Chinese, then be proud enough to tell them where to stick it........c'mon wave them stars'n'stripes......
