These 4 ft LED bulbs and fixtures look like a good deal at $36 and 4200 lumens. The reviews look good. Any one try them yet?

I just hung 9 in a 36x40. I will get a pic in a day or so. Got the power off wiring some other stuff. They are pretty bright

They made a huge difference in my shop. I've got 3 of them hung in my single car and I can't even believe how little light I used to make due with. I might get a few more but It is a slight pain getting them all plugged in unless you have outlets on your ceiling.

I added some to my shop for task lighting over my benches etc.. I love them. Super bright. I plan on changing out all my fluorescents to the led's as I can.

They are similar but not the same as the Costco lights. The Sam's fixtures have a bit more lumens 4200 vs 3700 I believe for the Costco fixtures. No Costco near me so Sam's was my only choice.

10'6" ceilings. Yep 9 lit it up really good. I also hung 2 over my work benches. I did put outlets in the ceiling to plug them into. My garage is still in progress. Open ceiling, just metal on the walls and gravel floor. Concrete will be poured in a few weeks hopefully. Calling for a couple of feet of snow though starting Friday.

From what I can see they don't look like they are designed for that. Maybe I could buy one and see if I can drill the ends and connect them with *******.

Yep. I went way overkill with my install though. 2 car garage I ran three rows of 4 front to back and another three across the back wall of the garage. I almost need sunglasses when I go in there.

Using two of them in a 30x40x14 over high use areas. Bought 3 more that I'm hanging onto and they will be replacing the 4' florescent lights as ballasts start to go. Very impressed, Instant, bright light, even when the shop is cold. They are designed to hang from chains, but I flush mounted my by drilling and attaching with screws. Don't get too close to the ends if you go this route, that's where all the electronics hang out........ask me how I know.

I bought two of them and installed them in my loft. I installed a switched outlet and plugged them both into it. I have only had them for a few weeks, but so far so good.

I got two of them at Christmas. They are pretty awesome in a basement. They don't come with pull chain extenders, ( mine didn't) so don't mount them too high!

They have a plug and cord on them so either plug in or cut the plug and wire direct.

I have three in my 2.5 car garage. They are incredibly bright, such a great upgrade over the T12 fluorescent fixtures I had in there before. Apparently my Sam's Club has a slightly different version that what it listed on the website. The ones I have are 4500 lumens not 4200 lumens and 240 LEDs total not 120. I keep forgetting to check the model number on the boxes to see if they're the same as what they have on the site.

I have a 30x60' shop and just finished installing the 4' LED lights from costco. I previously had 150w single socket flood type lights and they were terrible. For my space I had 12 and just used the $1.88 plug to socket converters and hung the lights. I still have a few left to add, but very happy and should cut the power bill some.

I bought two to put in the race trailer but they flickered more than the T8 units when on the generator. So i havent decided what to do with them yet. They also dont lend themselves to surface mounting well. Light us good, about the same as T8 6500K.

If they were hanging in the 16 to 18ft range, would that provide a good enough amount of light to enjoy working in the garage?

I have 30 of them in a 60x64 building with scissors trusses that are about 19" tall at peak. I have the lights hung to about 14' height. Have had them for better than a year at this point. Very happy with them and I have dark everything from the roofing foam on the ceiling and walls.

30 fixtures x 3800 lumens = 114K Lumens.
114,000 Lumens / 3840 square feet = 29.69 lumens per square ft.

3800 Lumens x 24 fixtures would be 91,200 lumens
91,200/ 1600 square ft = 57 lumens per square ft.

I am sure you would be happy with that amount of light. I did 5 rows of 6 fixtures.

I saw several people that said they recommended around 80.
I will have the vinyl backed insulation that is white on both the walls and ceiling so that should work out nicely.

I have 16 of the Costco ones in a 30x40. Half of the space is 10' ceiling, half is vaulted up to 22'. I have 8 in the tall side at 14' and 20'. 6 are in the 10' side flush mounted. 2 are in the loft. All on one 15 amp circuit switched. They've been up awhile with no failures. Good light, good color values, I'm happy. $25.99 at Costco now.

Oops... Sorry Andy. I have the Costco lights and used those numbers for the math which is why I was low on the lumens.

The Costco lights are 4100K. Generally speaking, I prefer the lower value numbers. 6K looks really blue and dim to me. I havent seen the Sams club fixtures in anyone's space as of yet to have an opinion on them.

Costco lights have a 90+ CRI. I believe them. Very pleasant light to me. Whiter, not as yellow as incandesant.

I picked up 10 of the Sams LED's to start with. They are very nice for the price. I took one apart to see if there is a way to gang them end to end and there is not. One of the plastic endcaps comes off to reveal a chaseway in the the aluminum extrusion, but the other endcap that the cord goes into contains the pullchain switch and it fills up the chaseway with a circuit board. So Maybe the next best thing is to mount 2 with the cords together and have 1 jbox for each 2 lights. I also see that they are out of stock online, is that a sign that they won't be in stores for long?

I was just at Sam's Club (first time ever). They had both LofA LED shop lights and Honeywell. The Honeywell's were a dollar cheaper ($35) and were the one's on display. It looks like those will replace the LofA fixtures.
