The quick answer is yes, but do a search on here as the subject has been covered well.

I have been using a craftsman vacuum directly on mine for almost 15 years and it just won't die. I have only replaced the filter one time. I just blow it out and keep going.

Hit a few garage/estate sales. I see shop vacs for cheap all the time....like less than $10 each cheap.

I use a ShopVac with a bag in it. Seems to work pretty good. I leave the back port of the cabinet open to let air in.

One thing that will control a lot of the dust from the media blaster is sealing all the seams of the main body. The unit you have there will leak from most of the seams as the foam tape is compressed, dries, and shrinks over time. Adding more foam weatherstripping to the door will help a lot also.

There are a lot of threads on media blasting cabinets, with good build threads as well. It's worth searching for them both here and even on YouTube.

Nice work.

Having that blue vacuum with the big eyes looking back at me from under the cabinet would creep me out.

That's a Henry........ They are the UK's answer to industrial needs but reasonable pricing.

I will be building something as well know as the dust is really bad once you get going.

What media are you using? I use black abrasive from HF and it isnt as dusty, at least in my box.

Are you using another water trap at the exhaust of the vacuum canister.
No, just the one. The round bucket is the water trap. If you're referring to the square bucket without a lid that's just a catch can to collect media out of the hopper of bottom of the cabinet.
