That’s what I’m afraid of although 6 months might be a bit light.

…. One of the reasons we are back in Arizona instead of Washington. 6-8 months of gray sky, gray water, gray roads, gray clouds, gray mountains…
Summer on the Olympic Peninsula is hard to beat but it doesn’t start until the 4th of July and is over on Labor Day.

Cutt’n up some live edge facia between rain spurts.

Need to get them on before I start installing the polycarbonate panels.

Thought I was going to install the polycarbonate panels today. Rain and wind kinda shut me down.

Did figure out one interesting, fun fact.

The extruded joint H pieces have a 5/8” space in them that, as you could imagine, spaces your 48” wide panels 5/8” apart👍

Guess how many panels you can install before your joints are off the rafters?

You would have to be on a 24-5/8” center to center layout. As a manufacturer, why would you not F’n state this in your product literature?

Why would you even make a system that doesn’t stay with a 24” or 16” layout?

Wasn’t feeling the old work vibe today.

Stayed home and finished installing the polycarbonate. Since I’m dodging rains squalls, I just went over the visqueen. I’ll cut it out later, from the inside.

Still need to Vycor it to be completely dried in👍

Also need to switch out the black screws for white. They look like dead flies.

Could use your creative ideas on what to do with this trailer.

Could be mine, if I want it.

Belongs to a previous resident of my neighborhood. They used it to pull logs out of the channel, then transport them down the street to his farm.

I don’t really need to transport logs very far, so I’m not really interested in it for that.

Any other uses come to mind?

Looks pretty good for transporting a 4-person rowing shell -- just the sport you were thinking about taking up, right? 😁

It actually does look perfect for hauling logs. Once people know you have a sawmill, they might start "giving" you dead trees. Might be worth your time to haul a unique species or size someday.

After a long dry spell, the channel finally choked up a decent log for me.

Beautiful evening with no wind and no current.

Made for an easy tow.

Does your puppy pull them out to play with? If you get tired of him I want that magnificent beast! But you have to supply the excavator to deal with the fertilizer he produces! LOL Harry

Woke up from my Saturday afternoon nap, and saw a whale out in the channel.

Scrambled like crazy to launch the boat (forgot the life jacket) and chased it down.

Easily the largest log I’ve seen all year.

Approx 38-42” dia, and 16’+ long.

But, it was too big for my mill. And, it was a cottonwood.

Estimated weight at 8500 lbs.

At 8,500 lbs, you were probably glad it was cottonwood!

If you see another whale like that, but better wood, can you haul it out of the water? I'll bet you could use an Alaskan mill to pull slabs off the sides and make it fit on your mill.

that trailer would make one heavy duty flagpole
It’s an old light pole, from before the break-away style ones.
It’s a thick and massive amount of steel.

But, I snoozed and I loozed. It went to someone else.

The TJI with the fan holes is mounted plumb, which would put the fans blowing straight at the 48 degree roof.

I decided to bend up some sheet metal to angle the fans down a bit more parallel with the roof.

Couldn’t quite match it exactly, but it’ll be much better.
