I hope Scotty is on today, but if not I need some immediate advice. I am installing the epoxy floor this weekend and ran into a big problem. I did the primer yesterday and went to lay the epoxy today and found that something is wrong with it. It has a ton of chunks in it, as though it has partially dried. I mixed it and mixed it thinking they would liquefy and they did not. I even poured a little out on the floor to see if maybe they would blend, but it looks like cottage cheese.
I opened the second can ( I have the 600 sf kit) and it is just the same. I tried to strain it, but there is so much of it that I'd probably lose a third of it.
Since the primer has now been on for close to 24 hrs (the maximum recoat window), I guess I'm screwed. What now? Am I going to have to grind the primer off and start over? I ordered the urethane top coat. The primer is light grey like the epoxy, and it is an epoxy primer, could I just put the urethane over the primer? Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get the 75% stuff?
Man, this *****.
