Ive never done it myself as my large door rarely opens due to a busy street and people always gawking. But there are some threads on here of screens that roll up when not in use and then drop down. Some are silk screened with murals on the outside to look like your garage door is closed etc. Maybe do a search as its been awhile since Ive seen the threads.
Tech Guy - I have that concern too. I bought 2 black fine mesh screens at Princess Auto that are designed for, among other things, covering up pick up truck beds. I hang them from my double door when it is open and it does a fairly good job of screening what is going on in my garage during daylight hours. Although you can see in to a depth of about 3 or 4 feet, it generally appears as a big "black hole" to people driving or even walking by. After sunset, you can see into the garage but it still offers some privacy. The screen has been a big help in regard to ventilation.Ive never done it myself as my large door rarely opens due to a busy street and people always gawking. Sorry, not yet. It looks pretty much like some of the ones in the links above except it's not as tight. There's no way it's going to keep the bugs out.Got a pic by any chance ?

When you have a street view problem, open the door up one foot. Air circulates and no one has a line of sight view. That's more than any average window can do. I'm sure a screen on the outside of the door would allow for that.
